End of cold war and the end ideological conflict between two superpower s were the foremost results of disintegration of USSR

Yogita Ingle 5 years ago (2577571)

1. End of Cold War confrontations:With the collapse of the Soviet Union, the ideological dispute that socialism was better than capitalism or vice versa was over. As a result of it, the arms race too came to an end.

2. Change in power relations: The US became the sole superpower. Capitalist economy was now the dominant economic system internationally. World Bank and International Monetary Fund became powerful advisors to countries since they gave loans for their transition to capitalism.

3.  Some new countries emerged on the international scene. The Baltic and East European states wanted to join the European Union. They became part of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. Thus, many new states emerged, each with its own identity, interests and economic and political problems.

From the GIVEN FIGURE, we have
AB = 18 cm , DC = 32 cm , Distance between AB  and DC(h) = 14 cm & radius of each circle(r) = 7cm

Since , AB ||DC
Therefore , ∠A + ∠D = 180° & ∠B + ∠C = 180°
[CO INTERIOR ANGLES are supplementary]

Area of sector =  (θ /360) ×πr²
Area of sector with ∠A & ∠D = (180 /360) × 22/7 × 7²
= ½ × 22 × 7 = 11 × 7 = 77 cm²

Similarly,  Area of sector with ∠B & ∠C = (180 /360) × 22/7 × 7²
= ½ × 22 × 7 = 11 × 7 = 77 cm²

Area of trapezium = ½ (sum of parallel sides) ×distance between Parallel sides(h)
Area of trapezium = ½ (AB + DC ) ×(h)
Area of trapezium = ½(18+32)×14
= ½(50)× 14 = 25 × 14 = 350 cm².

Area of shaded region = Area of trapezium - (Area of sector with ∠A & ∠D + Area of sector with ∠B & ∠C)
= 350 -(77+77) = 350 - 154 = 196 cm²
Area of shaded region = 196 cm²

India has three cropping seasons — rabi, kharif and zaid

Rabi crops are sown in winter from October to December and harvested in summer from April to June. Some of the important rabi crops are wheat, barley, peas, gram and mustard.

Kharif crops are grown with the onset of monsoon in different parts of the country and these are harvested in September-October. Important crops grown during this season are paddy, maize, jowar, bajra, tur (arhar), moong, urad, cotton, jute, groundnut and soyabean.

In between the rabi and the kharif seasons, there is a short season during the summer months known as the Zaid season. Some of the crops produced during ‘zaid’ are watermelon, muskmelon, cucumber,vegetables and fodder crops. Sugarcane takes almost a year to grow.

Involuntary muscle (or smooth muscle) is innervated by the autonomic nervous system and therefore is not under conscious control. It is not striated - rather, muscle cells contain small bundles of actin and myosin. It is found in the walls of the intestine, the iris, the walls of arteries and the walls of the uterus and cervix. Involuntary muscle contracts slowly but tires very slowly.

Voluntary muscle is responsible for causing movements of the skeleton at joints. It is innervated by the somatic nervous system. Voluntary muscle is striated and contracts quickly and powerfully but tires quickly.
