The sine of an angle is equal to the ratio of the opposite side to the hypotenuse whereas the cosine of an angle is equal to the ratio of the adjacent side to the hypotenuse. Sin θ = Opposite side/Hypotenuse. Cos θ = Adjacent side/ Hypotenuse.

- According to the Rutherford model, an electron orbiting around the nucleus continuously radiates energy due to the acceleration; hence the atom will not remain stable.
- This model could not explain the origin of the line spectra of atoms. Or As electron spirals inwards; its angular velocity and frequency change continuously; therefore it will emit a continuous spectrum.
