(i)Study of burials is one example. In the Harappan sites, the deads were usually laid in pits. There were differences in the Way burial pits were made. At some instances, the hollowed-out spaces were lined with bricks. But these may not be taken as an indication of social differences.
(ii)In some graves pottery and ornaments have been found. Jewellery has been found from the graves of men and women as well. These findings can point out social and economic differences. ‘
(iii)The artefacts have been classified into two categories, Utilitarian and Luxurious. Objects of daily uses and objects made of ordinary materials made of clay or stone come under utilitarian category. Ordinary articles consisted of querns, pottery, flesh-rubbers and needles. These have been found distributed throughout settlements.

Two strategies adopted to identify social differences among the Harappans are:
1. Burials- How the death are buried, what artefacts are buried along with it does help in identifying social differences.
2. Luxury goods- Archaeologists assume objects were luxuries if they are rare or made from costly, non-local materials or with complicated technologies. By the availability of it we can assume the existence of social differences. For example larger town like Harappa or Mohenjodaro have large

The excess money that the company receives from the shareholders is termed as calls in advance. Any company accepts calls in advance if authorized by its Articles. The amount thus received has to be credited to the "calls in advance" account. The amount paid previously is adjusted.

Consumer surplus can be positive or negative. It will be positive if the market price of a good is lesser than the price the customer is ready to pay. In contrast, it will be negative if the market price is greater than the customer’s willingness to pay.
The market price is the price of goods that is prevalent in the market. In contrast, the price which the consumer is willing to pay is the price that is determined by the consumer after researching the market.
The price for a product is determined by the company which is producing it and also depending on the demand and supply of the product.
The consumer surplus formula can be represented as follows
Consumer Surplus = Maximum Price Willing to Pay – Actual Price
The consumer surplus formula for multiple consumers can be expressed as
Consumer Surplus = ½ * Demand Quantity at Equilibrium * (Maximum Price Willing to pay – Market Price)

Measures initiated by the government to improve agricultural marketing are as follows:
- Regulation of market is required to create orderly and transparent marketing conditions. In regulated markets, sale and purchase of the produce is checked by the Market Committee consisting of representatives of government, farmers and the traders.
- Improvement in physical infrastructure is to improve the agricultural marketing. As the current existing facilities such as roads, railways, warehouses, processing units are not sufficient to meet the growing demand. Hence, government ensures the improvement in physical infrastructure.
- Cooperative marketing is the measure taken by the government in realising the fair prices for farmer products. Farmers, as members of these societies, bargain well for better prices for their produce through collective sale.
- The supportive policy instrument are assurance of Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for agricultural products, maintenance of buffer stocks of wheat and rice by Food Corporation of India (FCI) and distribution of food grains and sugar through Public Distribution System (PDS).
