The molecules or nucleophiles which has two attacking sites are called ambident nucleophiles. Ex CN, NO2 etc.

The nucleophile that can attack through two different site are called ambident nucleophile....for example..cyanide...it can attack through either C atom or N atom to form alkyl isocyanide or alkyl cyanide.....hope soo it helps u....
