Impact on foreign exchange rate due to increase in import duty on gold:

  • The import of gold will fall when the government increases the import duty on gold.
  • This reduces the demand for foreign currency.
  • With the supply of foreign currency remaining the same, the foreign exchange rate would fall. This implies an appreciation of rupees.

Due to less steric hinderence in aldehydes then ketones

Nidhi Bharti 4 years, 11 months ago

Aldehyde are more reactive because in ketone there are 2 alkyl goups which causes more stearic hindrance to the nucleophile but in Aldehyde there is only 1 alkyl group. Also due the presence of 2 alky group, +I effect is more on carbony carbon of ketone which reduces it's electrophilicity

Gandhi agree to settlement of 25℅refund to the farmers because he thought that amount of refund is less important than the fact that the landlord is obliged to surrender part of the money and with it part of their prestige

Utkarsh Soni 4 years, 11 months ago

Gandhi agreed to a settlement of 25 per cent refund to the farmers because he thought that the amount of the refund was less important than the fact that the landlords had been obliged to surrender part of the money and, with it, part of their prestige.

Satyam Suman 4 years, 11 months ago

For gandhi money was not the thing, he wanted to show britishers that they are not above law and by giving 25% britishers lost their prestige

Last Bencher 5 years ago

Becoz Gandhi wanted to make understand the farmers that they too have rights and they shouldn't fear the British people
