The title "The Last Lesson" universally depicts the truth of a moment, era or popularity of anything else in the universe. It clearly reveals the main theme of the story penned down by Alphonse Daudet, the realization of lose of some precious and valuable thing (like the freedom of Alsace and Lorraine) after Prussian war. We can also relate to this with the problems and realization we face today with hen Covid-19 pandemic agitates the study of class XII and the time is already wasted.

An order came from Berlin that in the schools of Alsace and Lorraine French language would not be taught anymore instead of French German would be taught, Your new master would come tomorrow. These words are thunderclap for Franz. At that time he became more emotional and sympathetic towards Mr. M Hamel

He developed a fondness for M. Hamel at the troubling idea of being separated from him forever. He understood the pain and agony his teacher was undergoing. And, he became more sympathetic towards his teacher.
