Equipotential surface is a surface on which voltage is same throughout the surface Properties: 1.Work done in moving charge over equipotential surface is zero 2.electric field lines of force are perpendicular to the surface 3.no 2 equipotential surface can intersect each other because if they intersect we can 2 normals which is not possible

Rajat Barwar 6 years, 8 months ago

It is of three types: Equipotential-1)line- all the points on the line have same potential. 2)plane/surface- all the points on the surface have same potential. 3) volume- all the points in the vole have same potential. eg- every conductor is equipotential( surface or volume) this can be proved by work method proving that it has E=0 on its surface. I have answered according to the ques.( only most imp. property). This may help you.

Polar dielectrics
A polar molecule which has permanent electric dipole moment ({tex}\vec p{/tex}) in absence of electric field are called polar dielectrics. In these substances the possibilities of centre coinciding of positive and negative charges are zero. Polar molecules are randomly oriented. e.g. Water, alcohol, HCl, NH3.
Non-polar dielectrics
A non-polar molecule having zero dipole moment in its normal state are called non-polar dielectrics. In these substances the centres of both positive as well as negative charges coincide.
Non-polar molecules have symmetrical shapes. e.g. Any non-conducting material.

in working there is a derivation whose final Equation is V(r)-V(R) =q/4πεο. (1/R-1/r). If we connect the smaller and the larger sphere with a conducting wire, the charge q, however small, on the smaller sphere gets transferred to the bigger sphere. Here, if we introduce a small charged sphere into a larger spherical shell, as shown in the system, the charge on the larger sphere keeps increasing. Similarly, the potential at the larger sphere would also keep rising as the charge increases, until the breakdown field of air is reached. The Van de Graaff generator works on the same principle.

Construction :---. It uses a moving belt that accumulates charge on a hollow metal structure designed like a globe, placed on the top of a column that is insulating in nature and thus, creating a very high electric potential in the order of a few million volts. This results in a very large electric field which is used to accelerate charged particles.

➡️The working principle of Van De Graff generator is based on : (i) the action of sharp points, i.e., the phenomenon of corona discharge. (ii) the property that charge given to a hollow conductor is transferred to outer surface and is distributed uniformly over it.

The following points explain the development of education in India after independence:

  1. Expansion of General Education:
During the period of planning there has been expansion of general education. In 1951, the percentage of literacy was 19.3. In 2001 the literacy percentage increased to 65.4%. The enrolment ratio of children in the age group of 6-11 was 43% in 1951 and in it became 100% in 2001.
  2. Primary education: Primary education has  been made  free and compulsory. Mid day meal has been started in schools since 1995 to check drop-out rate. The number of primary schools has risen by three times from 2.10 lakh (1950-51) to 6.40 lakhs (2001-02). There were only 27 universities in 1950-51 which increased to 254 in 2000-01.
  3. Development of Technical Education:
Besides general education, technical education plays important role in human capital formation. The government has established several Industrial Training Institutes, Polytechnics, Engineering colleges and Medical and Dental colleges, Management institutes etc.
  4. Women education:
In India, literacy among women was quite low. It was 52% according to 2001 census. While the literacy among men was 75.8%. Women education was given top priority in National Policy on Education. Many State Governments have exempted the tuition fee of girl’s up to university level. Separate schools and colleges have been established to raise level of literacy among women.
  5. Growth of higher education:
In 1951, there were 27 universities. Their number increased to 254 in 2001. In Orissa state, there was only one university in 1951. Now there are 9 universities.

Solenoid is a straight coil having uniform number of turns per unit length. A Toroid is an endless Solenoid. It is in the form of Hollow sphere, having large number of turns.

Randip Singh 6 years, 8 months ago

The differnce is that the solenoid is the straight coil whereas the toroid is the bent solenoid which have ring or doughnut shape. And toroid have greater magnetic field as compare to solenoid at its center due to ring shape.

Tranquilizer is a medicinal drug taken to reduce tension or anxiety. The principal minor tranquilizers are the benzodiazepines, among which are diazepam (Valium), chlordiazepoxide (Librium), and alprazolam (Xanax). These drugs have a calming effect and eliminate both the physical and psychological effects of anxiety or fear. Tranquilizers function in the body by depressing the central nervous system, inducing a sedation-like state. ... Major tranquilizers are also referred to as antipsychotics since they are primarily used to treat mental disorders, such as schizophrenia.
