The negative potential of the collector plate at which the photoelectric current becomes zero is called stopping potential or cut-off potential. Stopping potential is that value of retarding potential difference between two plates which is just sufficient to halt the most energetic photoelectrons emitted.It is denoted by "Vo".

After society grew and became differentiated, people were grouped into jatis or sub-castes and ranked on the basis of their backgrounds and their occupations. Ranks were not fixed permanently but varied according to the power, influence and resources controlled by members of the jati. The status of the same jati could vary from area to area. Jatis framed their own rules and regulations to manage the conduct of their members. These regulations were enforced by an assembly of elders, described in some areas as the jati panchayat. However, jatis were required to follow the rules of their villages.

In a half-wave rectifier, one half of each a.c input cycle is rectified. When the p-n junction diode is forward biased, it gives little resistance and when it is reversing biased it provides high resistance. During one-half cycles, the diode is forward biased when the input voltage is applied and in the opposite half cycle, it is reverse biased. During alternate half cycles, the optimum result can be obtained.
Full wave rectifier circuits are used for producing an output voltage or output current which is purely DC. The main advantage of full wave rectifier over half wave rectifier is that such as the average output voltage is higher in full wave rectifier, there is less ripple produced in full wave rectifier when compared to half wave rectifier.
