- As the Company worried about declining revenues, it introduced the Permanent Settlement of Bengal in 1793. It was introduced by Lord Cornwallis.
- According to this settlement, the rajas and taluqdars were recognised as the zamindars of the land. They had to collect rent from the peasants and pay the revenues to the Company.
- The amount to be paid to the Company was fixed permanently. The Company thought that this would ensure a steady and regular flow of revenues to them and would encourage the zamindar to invest in the improvement of the land.

Function of Heart
The heart performs the following important functions:
- The primary function of the heart is to pump blood throughout the body.
- It supplies oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and removes carbon dioxide and wastes from the blood.
- It also helps to maintain adequate blood pressure throughout the body.
The heart functions in the following ways:
- The arteries receive oxygenated blood from the heart and supply it throughout the body. Whereas, the veins carry the deoxygenated blood form all the body parts to the heart for oxygenation.
- The right atrium receives blood from the veins and pumps it to the right ventricle.
- The right ventricle pumps the blood received from the right atrium to the lungs.
- The left atrium receives oxygenated blood from the lungs and pumps it to the left ventricle.
- The left ventricle pumps the oxygenated blood throughout the body.

Fringe width:-
- Fringe width is the distance between consecutive dark and bright fringes.
- It is denoted by ‘β’.
- In case of constructive interference fringe width remains constant throughout.
- It is also known as linear fringe width.
Angular Fringe width:-
- It is the angle subtended by a dark or bright fringe at the centre of the 2 slits.
- It is denoted by ‘θ’.
- Mathematical Expression for fringe width(β):-
- xn =((nλD)/d)
- xn+1 =(((n+1)λD)/d)
- β =xn+1 - xn
- =(((n+1) λD)/d) – ((nλD)/d)
- =>β = (λD/d)
- Therefore fringe width depends on:-
- (λ)Wavelength of the light used, (D) distance of the screen from the slits and (d) distance between two slits.
- Mathematical Expression forangular fringe width(θ):-
- θ =(β/D)
- θ = (λD)/(d D)
- θ = (λ/d)
