2) The new Tory government which came up in Britain in the 1920 s appointed a Statutory commission led by Sir John Simon. The objective of the commission was to look into the constitutional system of India after Non Cooperation Movement and suggest reforms. However, the Simon Commission had a small problem - it was ALL BRITISH and had no single INDIAN member. This indicated Indian inferiority and Indians became furious. As a result, when the Commission arrived in Lahore, India in 1928, it was greeted with black flags and placards saying "SIMON GO BACK!!!". All parties showed significantly equal participation in the protest rally.

1) POONA PACT, 1932 = B.R. Ambedkar, a prominent dalit leader who organized Dalits into the Depressed Class Commission in 1930, clashed with M.K. Gandhi in the Second Round Table Conference in 1931 while demanding seperate electorates for Depressed castes. Gandhiji felt that seperate electorates would slow down the process of their integration with the society. So, he began fasting upto death and ultimately, Ambedkar accepted Gandhiji's superiority. The result drawn led to the Poona pact of September 1932. This pact ensured reserved seats for the Depressed Castes (now, Scheduled Castes or SC) in the legislative councils but they were to be elected by a General Electorate.

Magnesium ribbon is cleaned before burning in order to remove the layer of basic magnesium oxide which is formed due to the slow action of moisture on it

Sarita Panda 4 years, 5 months ago

Magnesium ribbon has a coating of 'magnesium oxide' and some impurities on its surface. MgO is formed by the slow action of moist air on it. So, Mg ribbon is cleaned with sand paper in oder to remove the layer of these oxides.

There always exist a chance that magnesium would react with air even before burning to obtain a layer of magnesium carbonate over the metal. This slows down the pace of the reaction of air with the metal ribbon. To remove this layer, the ribbon should be cleaned.

Angle at 1 minute = 6°. Radius = 14 cm. Therefore, angle at 5 minutes = 30°. Thus, area swept in 5 minutes = πr^2 Angle / 360° = 22/7 * 14 * 14 * 30°/360° = 22 * 2 * 14 * 1/12 = 616/12 cm^2. Area not swept = πr^2 - area swept = 616 - 616/12 = 564.66 cm^2.

If Indians refused to cooperate, British will leave India in hardly one year. 2) Hindus + Muslims = Gandhiji wanted to unify Muslims and Hindus. Actually , the poem fire and ice is a symbolic composition in which fire stands for the desire of a one

Adithya Dev A 4 years, 5 months ago

In the poem "Fire and Ice" by Robert Frost, the poet presents two contrasting ideas - Fire and Ice - as means by which our world will come to an end. Here, the poet equates fire with desire and ice with hatred. Our human desires spread rapidly like FIRE and engulf one's whole life. This in turn affects the people around us and thereby, destroys the world.
