x = a(cost + log tant/2)

differentiate with respect to t,

dx/dt = d{a(cost + logtan t/2)}/dt

= a[d(cost)/dt + d(logtan t/2)/dt]

= a[ -sint + 1/tan t/2 × sec²t/2× 1/2]

= a [ -sint + 1/{2sin t/2.cos t/2} ]

we know, 2sinA.cosA = sin2A , use it here

= a [ -sint + 1/sint]

= a { 1 - sin²t}/sint

= acos²t/sint

= acott. cost .......(1)

again, y = asint

dy/dt = acost .......(2)

now, dy/dx = {dy/dt}/{dx/dt}

= {acost}{acott.cost}

= 1/cott

hence, dy/dx = tan t

The cotton picked up from the plants still, has its seed in it. These seeds are pulled out of the cotton with the help of steel combs. The process by which cotton fibre is separated from seeds by steel combs is called ginning. Ginning can be done manually and also by machine. The ginned cotton is very light and fluffy occupies a lot of space. For its transportation, the ginned cotton is pressed tightly and packed in bales. Each bale roughly weighs about 200 kg. It is the process of changing fibre into yarn. The raw cotton is supplied to the industry in the form of bales. This cotton is converted into yarn through the following steps. The process of making yarn from fibres is called spinning. Spinning machine • The straightened fibres of cotton are called silver • Cotton bales are cleaned from leaves and dried stem to make silver.

Alcohols and carboxylic acids can be distinguished by litmus test and Reaction with sodium hydrogen carbonate
(i)Litmus test – Alcohol will have no effect on the litmus paper. Carboxylic acid acid will change blue litmus paper into red.

(ii)Reaction with sodium hydrogen carbonate – Alcohol has no reaction with sodium hydrogen carbonate (NaHCO3) but in the case of Carboxylic acid it reacts with NaHCO3 which gives CH3COONa, CO2 and H2O. The reaction is evident as the carbon dioxide will turn the lime water milky.
