We have to find the values of k for quadratic equations 2x² + kx + 3 = 0 so that they have two equal roots.
we know, quadratic equation will be equal only when
discriminant, D = b² - 4ac = 0
on comparing 2x² + kx + 3 = 0 with general form of quadratic equation , ax² + bx + c = 0 we get, a = 2, b = k and c = 3
so Discriminant , D = (k)² - 4(2)(3) = 0
or, k² - 24 = 0
or, k = ± √24 = ±2√6
hence, the value of k = 2√6 or -2√6

Weight measures the heaviness of the thing or the person. Everywhere on the earth the weight of a person remains the same. Weights can be measured in grams, milligrams and kilograms etc.
Given that
Assume the weight of one sheet is x
The weight of 12 sheets of thick paper =40 grams
Therefore,
The weight of one sheet x=3.33 grams
Therefore,
The given total weight=
=2.5 kg
=2500 grams
Total number of sheets
Therefore, Total number of sheets=750.7

- Antibiotics are used as drugs to treat infections because of their low toxicity for humans and animals.
- An antibiotic is a substance produced wholly or partly by chemical synthesis, which in low concentrations inhibits the growth or destroys microorganisms by intervening in their metabolic processes.
- In order to find chemicals this will affect the invading bacteria and not the host.
- Paul Ehrlich, a German bacteriologist, conceived this idea. He investigated arsenic based structures in order to produce less toxic substances for the treatment of syphilis.
- He developed the medicine, arsphenamine, known as salvarsan.
- Although salvarsan is toxic to human beings, its effect on the bacteria, spirochete, which causes syphilis, is much greater than on human beings.

Scratchpad memory (SPM), also known as scratchpad, scratchpad RAM or local store in computer terminology, is a high-speed internal memory used for temporary storage of calculations, data, and other work in progress. In reference to a microprocessor ("CPU"), scratchpad refers to a special high-speed memory circuit used to hold small items of data for rapid retrieval. It is similar to the usage and size of a scratchpad in life: a pad of paper for preliminary notes or sketches or writings, etc.

When pregnancy occurs, high levels of progesterone and estrogens suppress the gonadotrophin (FSH). The latter is required for the development of new follicles. Thus, new menstrual cycle cannot be initiated as long as FSH secretion is suppressed. So, menstrual cycles are absent during pregnancy.

We consider light rays from infinity parallel because they are parallel. ... As the intersection point is pushed further away, the lines become more parallel. The object at infinity means distant object. The rays falling on the lens from an object at infinity are parallel to principal axis. Object at infinity is a fancy way of saying that all the light rays coming from the object are parallel(almost) to each other. (Which is practically impossible because the object will emit or reflect light in all possible direction).

The mechanism of monsoons are discussed below:
(i)The differential heating and cooling of land and water creates low pressure on the landmass of India while the seas around experience comparatively high pressure.
(ii)The shift of the position of Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) in summer, over the Ganga plain (this is the equatorial trough normally positioned about 5°N of the equator – also known as the monsoontrough during the monsoon season).
(iii)The presence of the high-pressure area, east of Madagascar, approximately at 20°S over the Indian Ocean. The intensity and position of this high-pressure area affects the Indian Monsoon.
(iv)The Tibetan plateau gets intensely heated during summer, which results in strong vertical air currents and the formation of high pressure over the plateau at about 9 km above sea level.
(v)The movement of the westerly jet stream to the north of the Himalayas and the presence of the tropical easterly jet stream over the Indian peninsula during summer.

Khushwant Singh describes his grandmother as Short ,fat and a little Stooped. He also describes her as being not pretty in the traditional sense but her serenity made her beautiful as she always used to chant silent prayers from beads of rosary.She was always in spotless white.
They were very close to each other but the distance grew once he moved to city to further his academics.
