A thermite reaction is basically iron oxide (rust) reacting with aluminum to produce molten iron. The products are aluminium oxide, elemental iron, and a large amount of heat. The reactants are commonly or thermite mixture is aluminum powder and iron oxide (rust) powder. When the mixture is heated, it starts reacting as the aluminum is more reactive than the iron and aluminium forms stronger and stable bonds with oxygen than iron.

Chhaya Gangwar 5 years, 1 month ago (8177955)

The thermite reaction is an exothermic reaction between the metal and metal oxide.

We are familiar with air current and water current. We know that flowingwater constitute water current in rivers. Similarly, if the electric chargeflows through a conductor (for example, through a metallic wire), wesay that there is an electric current in the conductor. In a torch, weknow that the cells (or a battery, when placed in proper order) provideflow of charges or an electric current through the torch bulb to glow. Wehave also seen that the torch gives light only when its switch is on. Whatdoes a switch do? A switch makes a conducting link between the cell andthe bulb. A continuous and closed path of an electric current is called anelectric circuit. Now, if the circuit is broken anywhere (or the switch of thetorch is turned off), the current stops flowing and the bulb does not glow. How do we express electric current? Electric current is expressed bythe amount of charge flowing through a particular area in unit time. Inother words, it is the rate of flow of electric charges. In circuits usingmetallic wires, electrons constitute the flow of charges. However, electronswere not known at the time when the phenomenon of electricity was firstobserved. So, electric current was considered to be the flow of positivecharges and the direction of flow of positive charges was taken to be thedirection of electric current. Conventionally, in an electric circuit thedirection of electric current is taken as opposite to the direction of theflow of electrons, which are negative charges.

Electric Current: The flow of electric charge is known as electric current. Electric current is carried by moving electrons through a conductor. By convention, electric current flows in opposite direction to the movement of electrons.

A galvanometer is a device that is used to detect small electric current or measure its magnitude. The current and its intensity is usually indicated by a magnetic needle’s movement or that of a coil in a magnetic field that is an important part of a galvanometer.

MgO has a high melting point because of the difference in lattice energy. They all have the same FCC lattice structure, but the lattice energy of MgO is roughly 4 times that NaCl and KCl because it is proportional to Z+.Z- Since lattice energy is disproportional to this distance, that could be why the lattice energy of MgO is larger than that of BaO.

The immediate cause for the revolt of 1857 was the greased cartridges supplied to the soldiers for the new Enfield rifles. The cartridges had to be bitten off before insertion. It was rumored that the new cartridges were greased with the fats of cow and pig. This angered both the Hindu and Muslim soldiers as it hurt their religious sentiments. Thus, they rebelled against the British.
