The Indus civilisation is also known as the Harappan Civilisation, after its type site, Harappa, the first of its sites to be excavated early in the 20th century in what was then the Punjab province of British India and now is Pakistan. The discovery of Harappa and soon afterwards Mohenjo-daro was the culmination of work beginning in 1861 with the founding of the Archaeological Survey of India during the British Raj. There were however earlier and later cultures often called Early Harappan and Late Harappan in the same area; for this reason, the Harappan civilisation is sometimes called the Mature Harappan to distinguish it from these other cultures.

- A pair of equal and opposite charges seperated by a small vector distance is called an electric dipole. - An ideal dipole consists of two very very large charges + q and -q seperated by a very very small distance.
- An ideal dipole has almost no size.
- Molecules are made up of positive and negative charges seperated by small distances like water, ammonia etc and they act as electric dipoles. - Molecules which have non uniform distribution of charge are known as polar.Polar molecules will always be slightly negative on one end and slightly positive on the other Polar molecules are said to be permanent dipoles.
Eg: water, carbon dioxide.

As per the Gauss theorem, the total charge enclosed in a closed surface is proportional to the total flux enclosed by the surface. Therefore, If ϕ is total flux and ϵ0 is electric constant, the total electric charge Q enclosed by the surface is; Q = ϕ ϵ0.

Types of Joints
- Fixed joints: The joints where no movement of bones is possible are called fixed joint. The joints in the skull bone (cranium) are examples of fixed or immovable joints.
- Moveable joint: Movement is possible in these joints. There are two types of movable joints:
- Freely movable joints and
- Partially movable joints.
There are four types of movable joints in the body; which are as follows:
- Ball and socket joint: In this joint the rounded end of one bone fits into the cavity (hollow space) of another bone. It permits movement in all directions. The joints between shoulder and the upper arm is an example of ball and socket joint. Similarly, the joint between thigh and hip is an example of ball and socket joint.
- Pivot Joint: This type of joint allows movements in many planes, viz. up and down, side to side movements. The joint between the skull and the vertebral column is an example of pivot joint.
- Hinge joint: This joint is similar to the hinges in a door. This joint allows movement only in one plane and only up to 1800. The knee joint and elbow joint are examples of hinge joint.
- Gliding joints: The movement in this joint happens due to sliding of bones over one another. Joints between the rings of the backbone are examples of gliding joint. The wrist joint is also an example of gliding joint.

1000 m = 1 km
(a) Now, 1 round of the stadium track = Length of the stadium track= 400 m
∴10 rounds of the stadium track = 10×400 m = 4000 m = (4000/1000) km = 4 km
(b) Total length of the marathon race = 40 km = 40×1000 m = 40000 m
Distance covered in 1 round of stadium track = 400 m
∴Number of rounds in 40000 m = 40000/400 = 100
So, if you run a marathon on a stadium track, you will have to complete 100 rounds

Sustainability means continuity in the availability of opportunities. To have sustainable human development, each generation must have the same opportunities. All environmental, financial and human resources must be used keeping in mind the future. Misuse of any of these resources will lead to fewer opportunities for future generations. In other words sustainable human development refers to developing the current generation using all the available resourses efficiently so that there is no shortage of resourses for the future generation.

The title of the chapter 'Lost Spring' is a metaphor used for loss of childhood of millions of child-laborers in India. Spring is symbolic of joy, happiness, beauty, and hope. Childhood can be called the spring of a man's life. However, children like Saheb-e-alam and Mukesh have no spring in their life because of the poverty they have been born into. Since they don't enjoy the privileges of childhood that the children of affluent families enjoy, the poet considers these children whose spring (childhood) has been lost. Hence, the title 'Lost Spring' is justified.
