The balance of payments of a country is a systematic record of all economic transactions between its residents and residents of the foreign countries during a given period of time.
Note: Economic transactions are the transactions which cause transfer of value. In the context of foreign transactions value is transferred by the residents of one country to the residents of other country. Example: when exports of goods or services are made by country A to country B, value (= export receipts) is transferred by country B to country A. Between the countries, value is transferred in terms of foreign exchange (i.e. payments are received and made in terms of foreign exchange).

In short, the Big Bang hypothesis states that all of the current and past matter in the Universe came into existence at the same time, roughly 13.8 billion years ago. At this time, all matter was compacted into a very small ball with infinite density and intense heat called a Singularity. Suddenly, the Singularity began expanding, and the universe as we know it began.

Cells constitute various components of plants and animals. A cell is the smallest unit of life and is capable of all living functions. Cells are the building blocks of life. This is the reason why cells are referred to as ‘the basic structural and functional unit of life’. All cells vary in their shapes, sizes, and activities they perform. In fact, the shape and size of the cell is related to the specific function it performs.

Transition elements : The elements which have plenty filled d - subshells are known as d - block elements . These elements are lying between S and P - block elements. They represnt transition transition (change) in properties from strongly electropositive and metallic character of S - block elements to electronegative and non-metallic character of P - block elements, i.e. their properties are inter-mediate to those of S - block and P - block elements.
Four characteristic properties of transition metals.
- They are hard, heavy and less reactive metals.
- They show variable valencies.\
- They give coloured ions.
- They have high tendency to form complex compounds.

The current gain in the common-emitter circuit is called Beta (β). Beta is the relationship of collector current (output current) to base current (input current). To calculate beta, use the following formula :
β=ΔIC/ΔIB
The current gain in the common-base circuit is calculated in a method similar to that of the common emitter except that the input current is IE not IB and the term Alpha (α) is used in place of beta for gain. Alpha is the relationship of collector current (output current) to emitter current (input current). Alpha is calculated using the formula :
α=ΔIC/ΔIE
Thus, α=β/β+1

As tempting it was for Albert to tell the head teacher the truth and what he thought about his school, he resisted it and walked straight out of the school with his head high. He said goodbye to his only friend Yuri and Elsa was back in Berlin by that time. At last, Albert was out of school.

The author says this because Albert was short on money and yet he had spent some so that he could get a medical certificate to escape from school. When he was expelled from school without the need to produce any kind of medical reasons, it burnt " a hole in his pocket" because he had spent money on something that was entirely unnecessary.
