The pictures of ‘Shakespeare’, ‘buildings with domes’, ‘world maps’ and beautiful valley represent honor, education, civility, beauty and vastness. While, the poverty stricken and neglected kids in the classroom are an embodiment of the lack: they lack beauty, proper education, development and freedom to explore the world. Even their future does not hold any promise. In fact, there are chances these pictures may tempt them to pursue wrong path in order to find ways to attain the things indicated by them.

Thus, the contrast is highlighted by juxtaposing the world as represented by the pictures and the reality of these kids confined in a “narrow street sealed in with a lead sky”, both made present in the same classroom.

The length of the board=4m

The breadth of the board=3m

Area of the board=l×b=4×3=12m^2

Side of square=0.5m

Area of the square=0.5×0.5=0.25m^2

The number of tiles required for flooring is Area of the board÷Area of each square

=>12/0.25=48

Therefore the number of tiles required is 48.

In nature, a given habitat has enough resources to support a maximum possible number, beyond which no further growth is possible. This limit known as nature’s carrying capacity (K) for that species in that habitat.

The carrying capacity of an environment is the maximum population size of a biological species that can be sustained in that specific environment, given the food, habitat, water, and other resources available.

Canal Ray experiment is the experiment performed by German scientist Eugen Goldsteinin 1886 that led to the discovery of the proton. The discovery of proton which happened after the discovery of the electron further strengthened the structure of the atom. In the experiment, Goldstein applied high voltage across a discharge tube which had a perforated cathode. A faint luminous ray was seen extending from the holes in the back of the cathode.

Let’s pretend we have an image of a dog on our computer saved as “funny-dog.jpg” and we want to insert it into a webpage; this is the code we would use:

<code>1</code> <code><</code><code>img</code> <code>src</code><code>=</code><code>"funny-dog.jpg"</code><code>></code>

Let’s analyze this code. First, <img> is the code for creating an image element. Next, the letters “src” are used as an attribute and stand for “source”. Basically, we need to provide the web browser with a value to the source of the image. Naturally, the value for the source attribute is “funny-dog.jpg”. This example assumes your image file is located in the same directory as your HTML file. If, for example, you had your image file inside a folder named “images” your code would look like this:

<code>1</code> <code><</code><code>img</code> <code>src</code><code>=</code><code>"images/funny-dog.jpg"</code><code>></code>

Self Closing Elements

As you can see, in both code examples so far there has not been an ending </img> tag, because the image code is a “self closing” element. This is because unlike a paragraph, we won’t have a plethora of content inside our <img> element, but rather a single image. In fact, HTML5 does not require us to ever “close” our elements, but for organizational reasons I recommend including traditional closing tags for most elements.

There is one additional bit of code we must add before we are finished. We must assign an “alt” attribute and value to our image. The “alt” attribute stands for “alternative” and is used to provide a text-based alternative for viewers incase the image will not load, or if they are visually impaired. Here is what our code will look like:

<code>1</code> <code><</code><code>img</code> <code>src</code><code>=</code><code>"funny-dog.jpg"</code> <code>alt</code><code>=</code><code>"A funny dog sitting on the grass."</code><code>></code>

Communalism can take several forms in politics – in everyday beliefs, formation of parties based on communities, campaigning or asking for votes, formation of government, etc.
(i) Communalism in daily beliefs : The most common expression of communalism is in everyday life. These routinely involve religious prejudices, stereotypes of religious communities and the beliefs in the superiority of one religion over the other religions. This is so common that we often fail to notice it, even when we believe in it.
(ii) Formation of political parties on the basis of communities : All the communities of the world have a quest for political dominance of one’s own religious community. For those belonging to the majority community, this takes the form of majoritarian dominance. For those belonging to the minority community, it can take the form of a desire to form a separate political unit.
(iii) Political mobilisation on communal lines : It is another frequent form of communalism. Parties based on a particular community make use of sacred symbols, religious leaders, emotional appeal and create fear in order to bring the followers of one religion together in the political arena. In electoral politics, this often involves a special appeal to the interests or emotions of voters of one religion in preference to others.
(iv) Communal riots: Sometimes, communalism takes the most ugly form of communal violence, riots and massacre. India has suffered some of the worst communal riots at the time of partition. The post independence period has also seen large- scale communal violence.

Gaurav Seth 5 years ago (2898529)

Communalism implies a strong sense of belonging to a particular religious community to the exclusion of others. The concept of communalism holds that religious distinction is the most fundamental and overriding distinction that separates a particular community from others. Communalism as evident from the rise of politics based on religious identity has been an important factor in the Indian political system.

The relationship between communalism and Indian politics was institutionalized in 1909 by the Minto - Morley Reforms and subsequently through the Montagu – Chermsford Reforms of 1919 which led to separate electorates. Though the system was abolished in 1947 the germs of communalism remained in independent India as well.

The introduction of universal adult franchise in independent India was one of the historic events of the nation. This gave the people of this country an opportunity to elect their representatives, a right which was denied to them for long. However, political parties soon began to look for ‘easy ways’ of mobilizing votes. Besides using caste they also used religion to woo voters. Interestingly, the law of the land does not debar the formation of political parties on the basis of caste or religion. Even the Supreme Court in a judgment delivered on 17th July, 1995, ruled that political parties which identify with a particular caste, community, religion or language can seek votes to promote their cause without harming or creating hatred for other caste, community, religion or language. Unfortunately, many political parties today cross their limits and this has created a number of communal violence in recent years.

Moreover, communal issues are often brought up during the time of elections; this is mostly done to divert attention from real issues of basic development. A section of politicians have been manipulating communal issues for their selfish ends. This section of individuals and groups are more prone to use divisive ideologies like communalism to ensure their political power. Communalization of politics has today become a threat to secular character of the nation.

Using the perimeter of a pentagon formula, you can find the perimeter of a regular pentagon with relative ease. To find the perimeter of a regular pentagon with sides of length, <i>p</i>, you use this formula:

Perimeter  = 5 × p

In formula, 5 is the number of sides, and p is the length of the side that we know.

Where there is no water the drought occur

Yogita Ingle 5 years ago (2577571)

When there is a lack of rain for a long period over an area which causes dryness and non-availability of water to plants and animals, drought occurs.

Gaurav Seth 5 years ago (2898529)

Q 8.

When does a drought occur?

SOLUTION:

Drought occurs when there is scanty rainfall or no rainfall for a year or more in a particular region. As the lakes and ponds dry up due to continuous evaporation, the water level lowers down. The soil continues to lose water by evaporation and transpiration and ultimately becomes dry. This condition leads to drought.

Gaurav Seth 5 years ago (2898529)

Q 7.

How are clouds formed?

SOLUTION:

Due to evaporation of water from various water bodies, open fields and transpiration from the surface of leaves, water vapours are formed in the air. As this air moves up, it gets cooler and at certain height, it becomes cool enough for condensation. There, the water vapours present in the air condense into tiny droplets of water. These tiny droplets of water remain floating in the air and appear to us as clouds.

Gaurav Seth 5 years ago (2898529)

SOLUTION:

The glasses become wet because the air we breathe out is warm and contains water vapours which condense on the surface of glass in the form of water droplets. Thus, making the glass surface wet.

Gaurav Seth 5 years ago (2898529)

SOLUTION:
We see puddle of water around the cooled bottle of water after some time because of condensation. The air when comes in contact with the cold surface of the bottle containing chilled water it gets cooled and as a result the water vapour present in air condenses on the surface of the bottle.

. Construct an angle of 90° at the initial point of a given ray and justify the construction.

Construction Procedure:

To construct an angle 90°, follow the given steps:

1. Draw a ray OA

2. Take O as a centre with any radius, draw an arc DCB is that cuts OA at B.

3. With B as a centre with the same radius, mark a point C on the arc DCB.

4. With C as a centre and the same radius, mark a point D on the arc DCB.

5. Take C and D as centre, draw two arcs which intersect each other with the same radius at P.

6. Finally, the ray OP is joined which makes an angle 90° with OP is formed.

Justification

To prove ∠POA = 90°

In order to prove this, draw a dotted line from the point O to C and O to D and the angles formed are:

From the construction, it is observed that

OB = BC = OC

Therefore, OBC is an equilateral triangle

So that, ∠BOC = 60°.

Similarly,

OD = DC = OC

Therefore, DOC is an equilateral triangle

So that, ∠DOC = 60°.

From SSS triangle congruence rule

△OBC ≅ OCD

So, ∠BOC = ∠DOC [By C.P.C.T]

Therefore, ∠COP = ½ ∠DOC = ½ (60°).

∠COP = 30°

To find the ∠POA = 90°:

∠POA = ∠BOC+∠COP

∠POA = 60°+30°

∠POA = 90°

Hence, justified.
