The elemental analysis of a cell shows that it is composed of various elements such as carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, chlorine, etc.

But what do these elements constitute? What are the properties of the compounds formed by these elements?

Only a chemical analysis can answer these questions.

Analytical techniques provide information regarding different compounds (organic and inorganic), their molecular formula and structures. They also help us to isolate and purify one compound from another.

Here is a simple experiment to find the Chemical Composition Analysis in Biomolecules.

Take a piece of living tissue and crush and mix it with an acid. After its filtration, we obtain two portions. The fraction which is obtained as filtrate is acid-soluble portion while the other fraction is acid-insoluble, which retain on the filter membrane. This shows that within the tissues, there two or more compounds which have distinct properties.

Take another piece of tissue and burn it, once all the water in it is evaporated. All carbon compounds will be oxidized on burning. The left out ash gives us the inorganic compounds like calcium, magnesium, sulfate, phosphate, etc., in the tissue.

Glycolysis is the process of breakdown of glucose(6C) to produce 3C pyruvic acid and energy is glycolysis.

Fermentation is a process in which breakdown of sugar occurs by the microorganism in the absence of oxygen to produce ethanol.

ATP is produced by the oxidative decarboxylation

The respiratory pathway is an amphibolic pathway because it includes both catabolic and anabolic reaction. During respiratory reaction breaks down of organic substances like carbohydrates, fats, proteins occurs to release energy. Such a process is considered catabolic in nature

  • Rich peasant communities like Patidars of Gujarat and Jats of Uttar Pradesh - joined the movement because, being producers of commercial crops, they were hard-hit by depression and falling prices. For them, Swaraj meant struggle against high revenues.
  • Poor peasants joined the struggle because they found it difficult to pay the rent. They wanted the unpaid rent to be remitted.
  • Rich business classes were against colonial policies which restricted trade. They joined the movement because they wanted protection against import of foreign goods. They thought that Swaraj would cancel colonial restrictions and trade would flourish without constraints.

The last that he had painted for Johnsy. It is a master piece because that painting had save johnsy life.

Ipshita Sharma 5 years ago (9782125)

In brief , Behram's masterpiece was that leaf ?. As it regained the desire to live in Johnsy . It was called a masterpiece because it gave 'life' to one person

Yogita Ingle 5 years ago (2577571)

Berhman’s masterpiece is the last leaf on the ivy creeper. Sue calls it a masterpiece because this painting rekindled the willingness to live in Johnsy’s heart and she was able to recover from her illness. Johnsy had eventually developed a fear that she would die when the last leaf fell from the ivy creeper. But Berhman spent an entire night in a heavy storm to paint a fresh green leaf. Berhman suffered from pneumonia because of getting drenched while painting and eventually died. However next morning on seeing that leaf Johnsy thought it was real and got a feeling of self-belief. She realized she could get well if she wanted to and came out of her illness.

Lysosomes are sphere-shaped sacs filled with hydrolytic enzymes that have the capability to break down many types of biomolecules. Lysosomes are known as suicide bags of the cell because they contain lytic enzymes capable of digesting cells and unwanted materials.

Yukti Verma 5 years ago (10144550)

Because they contain those enzymes which help in destroying the dead cells.. So, that's why, lysosomes are called suicidal bags Thank you!

An electric dipole is pair of 2 equal and opposite charges separated a short distance apart from it

Yogita Ingle 5 years ago (2577571)

An electric dipole is defined as a couple of opposite charges q and –q separated by a distance d. By default, the direction of electric dipoles in space is always from negative charge -q to positive charge q. The midpoint q and –q is called the centre of the dipole. The simplest example of an electric dipole is a pair of electric charges of two opposite signs and equal magnitude separated by distance.

Current produced inna conductor due to change in magnetic flux through the coil is called induced electric current and the phenomenon is electromagnetic induction.

Gaurav Seth 5 years ago (2898529)

The meaning of word ‘Electromagnetic’ is related to the interrelation of electric currents (or fields) and magnetic fields and “Induction” is the process of giving rise to something, which together means the process of generation of an electric current in a closed circuit from magnetic effects, i.e. by changing magnetic fields.
Three factors on which the value of induced current in a coil in presence of a magnet depends upon
(i) the number of turns in a coil circuit.
(ii) the nature of magnet used.
(iii) the speed of motion with which magnet is pushed into (or pulled only) the coil.
Fleming’s right hand rule is used to determine the direction of induced current.
Electric generator is based on the principle of electromagnetic induction.

Male reproductive system is located in the pelvis region. It Consists of – a pair of testis, glands, accessory ducts, external genitalia.

Testes-

  • Smooth organ situated outside the abdominal cavity within a pouch called
  • The ******* helps in maintaining the low temperature of the testis which is 2-2.5C which is below than the normal internal body temperature.
  • Each testisis 4 to 5 cm in length and 2 to 3 cm in width in adults.
  • Each testis contains about250 compartments called testicular lobules.
  • Each testicular lobules contain one to three highly coiled seminiferous tubules, in which sperms are produced.
  • The wall of each seminiferous tubuleis lined by two types of cells called male germ cells (spermatogonia) and Sertoli cells.
  • The male germ cells undergo meiosis leading to sperm formation and Sertoli cells provide nutrition to the germ cells.
  • The regions outside the seminiferous tubules called interstitial spaces contain small blood vessels and interstitial cells or Leydig cells.
  • Leydig cells synthesize and secrete testicular hormones called androgens.

Accessory ducts-

  • The male accessory ducts include rete testisvasa efferentiaepididymis and vas deferens.
  • The seminiferous tubules of the testis open into the vasa efferentia through rete testis.
  • The vasa efferentia leave the testis and open into epididymis located along the posterior surface of each testis.
  • The epididymis leads to vas deferens that ascends to the abdomen and loops over the urinary bladder.
  • Vas deferens receives a duct from seminal vesicle and opens into urethra as the ejaculatory duct.
  • The urethra originates from the urinary bladder and extends through the ***** to its external opening called urethral meatus.

Accessory glands-

  • The male accessory glands include paired seminalvesicles, prostate gland and paired bulbourethral glands.
  • Accessory glands secrete seminal plasma which is rich in fructose, calcium and some enzymes
  • Secretion of bulbourethral gland also helps in lubricating the *****.

External genitalia-

  • The ***** is the male external genitalia.
  • Some special tissues make up the ***** which helps in the erection of the *****.
  • The enlarged end of ***** called the glans *****.
  • Foreskin, a loose fold of tissue covers the glans *****.
