The poem is a tribute to the poet’s mother. She is looking at an old photograph of her mother which has a frame of cardboard. The picture has three girls in which the middle one is the oldest and tallest.
It is her mother when she was twelve years old or so. Beside her, on both sides are her two cousins, Betty and Dolly, who are holding her hands and are younger than her. They went for paddling on a beach holiday. Her uncle took the photograph then. The poet could not help but notice her mother’s sweet face. The sea touched her terribly transient feet which depicted that she changed over the years and the sea remained the same.
After twenty-thirty years, her mother would laugh at the photograph. She would make the poet look at the photograph and tell her how their parents would dress them up for the beach holiday. The beach holiday was her mother’s favourite past memories while her laugh was the poet's favourite memory. Both of them lost something which they cherished a lot and yet cannot live that moment again.
Those sweet moments were memories now.
Now, the poet’s mother had been dead for the past twelve years, which is the same number as of her age when the photograph was taken back then. She cannot express the grief that she has from her mother’s absence.

E-mail is a simple way to send a message from one computer to another in a few seconds. One can also attach images with an e-mail. E-mail is generally of the form username@domainname. For example, [email protected] is an e-mail address where compuer12 is the username and gmail.com is the domain name.

Dear Rahul,
Hope everything is fine at your end. And hope your preparation of boards is as well there. This is our last year in School, after our exams we would take different turns in our life. We all might be in different ways.
So, today I want to share my future plan after leaving school. Firstly, I would seek a nice college for me and as well as a residence there. I am hoping to get hostel there. I am very much excited and nervous too for the upcoming journey, but I am sure it would be a pretty experience. As you know, my one and only goal is to serve the mankind as a teacher, I would reach to any point to achieve this. Secondly, I am passionate about singing, and I strongly believe music can energise our soul, I want to learn guitar and would like to carry on my singing with my studies. I again want to participate in quiz contests, essay writing competitions, as now I am compromising those for my exams. I want to explore various new things which would enrich me. There are lots of wishes I want to fulfill. Some of those I mentioned to you.
Okay, no more now. We will have lots of talk after exams. Wish you all the best. Take love.
Yours truly,
Rakesh

After his misadventure in the pool at the Y.M.C.A., Douglas was amidst the fear of water. He realised that his fishing trips, canoeing, swimming and boating were over. He tried his best to overcome it but the haunting fear of the water followed him everywhere. Finally he decided to engage an instructor to learn to swim and to overcome his fear. He went to the pool and practised for five days a week, an hour each day. The instructor put a belt around him and a rope was attached to the belt. The rope went through a pulley that ran an overhead cable. Douglas held one end of the rope and went back and forth across the pool. On each trip, some of the terror would seize him up. After three months, the tension began to decrease.
Piece by piece he shed the panic. He taught him to put his face under water and exhale. He also learnt how to raise his nose and inhale. This exercise was repeated hundreds of times.
Now he was able to shed part of the fear that seized him under water. He went to Lake Wentworth Triggs Island and Slamp Act Island. He swam two miles across the lake. Now he was determined and he swam on. He shouted with joy and he had conquered his fear of water.

In 1911, Rutherford performed the gold foil experiment. He bombarded a stream of a-particles on a gold foil, a thin sheet which was 0.00006 cm thick in an evacuated chamber. An a-particle is a positively charged helium ion (He +).
Most of the a-particles passed straight through the foil without any deflection. This concluded that most of the space inside of an atom is empty.
(ii) A few particles were deflected through small angle and few through larger angles. This happened due to positive charge on particles and core (nucleus) of the atom. The heavy positively charged 'core' was named as nucleus.
(ii) The number of particles which bounced back was very small. This concluded that the volume of the nucleus is very small in comparison to the total volume of the atom. On the basis of gold foil experiment, Rutherford concluded that an atom consists of nucleus which has positive charge and it is surrounded with electrons which are moving around the nucleus. The number of electrons and protons are equal and the entire mass of the atom is concentrated at its nucleus. Drawbacks in the Rutherford's model
(i) According to classical electro-magnetic theory, a moving charged particle, such as an electron under the influence of attractive force loses energy continuously in the form of radiations. As a result of this, electron should lose energy and therefore, should move in even smaller orbits ultimately falling into the nucleus. But the collapse does not occur. There is no explanation for this behavior.
(ii) Rutherford did not specify the number of orbits and the number of electrons in each orbit.

- The function and significance of vacuoles vary greatly according to the type of cell in which they are present.
- In general, the functions of the vacuole include- Isolating materials that might be harmful or a threat to the cell. Containing waste products.
- Containing water in plant cells. Maintaining internal hydrostatic pressure or turgor within the cell. Maintaining an acidic internal pH.
- Allows plants to support structures such as leaves and flowers due to the pressure of the central vacuole etc.
