शिमला समझौता 1971 के भारत पकिस्तान युद्ध के बाद हुआ था। इस समझौते में भारत के तरफ से तत्कालीन राष्ट्रपति इन्दिरा गांधी ने भाग लिया था और पाकिस्तान के तरफ से जुल्फिकार अली भुट्टो ने भाग लिया था। इस समझौते में पाकिस्तान ने यह बात स्वीकार की थी की पूर्वी पकिस्तान को वेस्टर्न पकिस्तान से पृथक करके एक अलग राष्ट्र का निर्माण किया जाएगा और इसी समझौते में भारत पाकिस्तान के बीच loc लाइन बनाने का फैसला लिया गया था।

Mangal Pandey was the first Indian civilian who had started 1857 great revolt. He posted in the Barrackpore Infantry Division (34 Native infantry Division) . On 29March 1857 he had killed two British army officer and refused to use the Grease cartridged bullet. As a result, britisher hanged him on 8Arpil 1857.
