भौतिक संस्कृति भौतिक वस्तुओं, संसाधनों और रिक्त स्थान को संदर्भित करती है जिसका उपयोग लोग अपनी संस्कृति को परिभाषित करने के लिए करते हैं। इनमें घर, पड़ोस, शहर, स्कूल, चर्च, आराधनालय, मंदिर, मस्जिद, कार्यालय, कारखाने और पौधे, उपकरण, उत्पादन के साधन, माल और उत्पाद, भंडार और आगे शामिल हैं। संस्कृति के ये सभी भौतिक पहलू इसके सदस्यों के व्यवहार और धारणा को परिभाषित करने में मदद करते हैं। उदाहरण के लिए, प्रौद्योगिकी आज के संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में भौतिक संस्कृति का एक महत्वपूर्ण पहलू है। अमेरिकी छात्रों को अमेज़ॅन में यनोमामो समाज में युवा वयस्कों के विपरीत, कॉलेज और व्यवसाय में जीवित रहने के लिए कंप्यूटर का उपयोग करना सीखना चाहिए, जो हथियार बनाने और शिकार करने के लिए सीखना चाहिए।
