• Molecular weight of Ca(OH)2= 74 • So 74 g of Ca(OH)2 in 1000 ml of solution will give = IM solution. • 2.5 M solution of calcium hydroxide will contain = 74 X 2.5 185 g in 1000 ml of the solution. • So correct answer = 185.3 g • Note: • But actually the Solubilty of Ca(OH)2 is 1. 1.83 g/L at 0°C 2. 1.73 g/L at 20°C 3. 0.66g/L at 100°C • So this one of the inorganic substance whose Solubilty decreases with increase in temperature. • Also in practice it is not possible to prepare 2.5M calcium hydroxide solution. Only a suspension of calcium hydroxide can be prepared.
