Bhaktin ka vastvik name laxmi tha. Laxmi name dhan dollat ka partik mana jata hai lekin vahe bahot garib thi. Jab vo naukri ke liye Mahadevi Verma ke pass gyi thi tab usne apna name bataya tha usne kha ki mera ye name kisi ko mat batana. Tab bhaktin uski seva karti thi tab Mahadevi Verma ne usko ye name diya tha.

Vaishnavi Yadav 3 years, 8 months ago

Susheel Singh 3 years, 8 months ago

The play "The Proposal" is a farce written by Anton Chekov. This play is about two neighbours who have an argumentative nature. They quarrel over small and petty issues. Ivan Vassilevitch Lomov was came to his neighbour Stepan Stepanovitch Chubukov to seek the hand of his daughter Natalya Stepanova. But rather than coming to the main purpose they start quarreling. First, they quarrel about "to whom Oxen Meadows belong". As the quarrel ends, they starts another quarrel regarding their dogs Guess and Squeezer. Chubukov jumped into the quarrel and then, forcefully stops the quarrel and give the hand of her daughter Natalya in the hand of Lomov. He did not want to waste any time. They began their married life with a fresh quarrel.

Anushka Bhargav 3 years, 8 months ago

The title of the play is 'The proposal' and it is a very apt one because the whole play is about Lomov proposing Natalya. Right from the beginning to the end of the play, the story revolves round a marraige proposal. Lomov comes to Natalya's house to propose to her but even before he does it, they both start fighting.

Salma Parween 3 years, 8 months ago

Bholi was the youngest child of Ramlal. She was born as a fair and pretty child so she was named Sulekha. However, events of mishaps befell her as she fell off the cot when she was just ten months old and had an attack of small pox when she was two. The falling off the cot damaged a part of her brain and she was thus named ' Bholi ' which means a 'simpleton'. The small pox she suffered from left black pock marks on her face. Bholi started talking at the age of five years and she used to stammer that made her a subject of ridicule. As a dumb child she was never paid any attention to by her family. She was mocked by the children and had inferiority complex. When she started going to the village primary school, her teacher built confidence in Bholi. Bholi turned from a shy, ignored child to an assertive and strong lady in the guidance of her teacher. The way Bholi took a stand for herself at the end was commendable.

Though The Tale of Custard the Dragon has been written in the style of a serious ballad, it is actually a light-hearted poem. The poet has used a fixed rhyme scheme throughout the poem, which makes it easy and fun to read. He has also deliberately misspelt certain words like “winda” and “realio trulio” which adds rhythm and humour to the poem. The names and descriptions of the various animals in the poem are also humorous. The poet further makes extensive use of onomatopoeia in the poem which adds to the experience of reading the poem aloud. Moreover, the poet also uses contrasting ideas to create humour. He presents a dragon who is a coward, though dragons are usually described as being fierce. Then he describes an incident where this cowardly dragon was the only one who showed true courage when faced with danger. All of this makes this a very humorous and light hearted poem
