Metals low in activity series like copper are very unreactive. The oxides of these metals can be reduced to metals by heating alone. Copper is found as Cu2S in nature. It can be formed just heating it in air.

2Cu2S+3O2→  Heat 2Cu2O+SO2↑

2Cu2O+Cu2S Heat →  6Cu+SO2↑

<div>Then electrolytic refining of copper is carried out to remove the rest of the impurities present in the ore. The impure copper is made anode and strip of pure copper are made cathode. On passing the current as shown in the diagram, the pure copper from the anode dissolves into an electrolyte. An equivalent amount of copper is deposited on the cathode. Soluble impurities remain in the solution, whereas insoluble impurities settle at the bottom of the anode.</div>

Great bath was as a swimming pool. It was important for mohenjdaro people. Great bath was perhaps used by important people on special occasions

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 4 months ago (2577571)

The Great Bath—a rectangular structure which resembled a swimming pool—was an important structure at Mohenjodaro. It was a large complex with six entrances, a central bathing pool, dressing rooms on all sides and an adjacent well. Steps lead to the bottom of the pool from two sides. Water from an adjacent well was used to fill the pool with fresh water, and an outlet in the corner was used to drain dirty water. It was made up of baked bricks and was made watertight with a layer of bitumen or natural tar. The Great Bath was perhaps used by important people on special occasions.

Fleece and Wool bearing animals; like sheep, goat, camel, yak, etc. bear two types of hair – coarse hair and fine-soft under hair. Fine soft hair is found close to the skin in such animals. The fine soft under hair is called fleece. Fiber for wool is obtained from the fleece (hair) of such animals and hence such animals are called wool bearing animals.

ANSWER The effects of the Russian Revolution of 1917 over Russia were as follows: (i) The Russian Revolution put an end to the autocratic Tsarist rule in Russia. (ii) It led to the establishment of world's first communist/socialist government. The new Soviet Government announced its withdrawal from the First World War. (iii) The Socialist Government announced the nationalisation of all industries, private lands, banks, mines, railways, telephones etc. These were declared as state's property. (iv) Planned economic development started at the time of Stalin. The collectivisation of agriculture was introduced by Stalin. From 1929, the party forced all peasants to cultivate in collective farms. (v) Planned economy soon turned the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) into a powerful industrial nation by the Second World War. Poverty began disappearing from Russia. With the outbreak of the Second World War, USSR had given socialism a global face.

The young seagull was afraid to fly because he thought that his wings wouldn't support him. No, all birds aren't afraid to make their first flight. In the story, the young seagull's little sister wasn't afraid of flying. We can say that some birds are more timid than others. It can be said that human babies find it challenging to take their first steps but its very rare that they are afraid of it.

Collectivisation was the process whereby individuals land and farms were put together to form a collective farm of a Kolkhoz, this was then run by a committee were all of the animals and tools were handed over. Everything was to be shared there including the produce of the farm.

Consequences:
The destruction of the life stock had disastrous consequences and led to terrible famine. It was estimated that 16million people died between 1931 and 1933. Although production levels had increased, many peasants lived in extreme poverty. The collectivisation theory was very simple.

Absolute Poverty

Relative Poverty

Any person not in a position to obtain essential commodities like food, shelter and clothing are said to experience absolute poverty Relative poverty does not concentrate on biological needs but rather makes a comparison between two people in the environment
Income Level is considered in Absolute Poverty It is not considered when measuring relative poverty as a person will still be considered poor despite meeting his.her basic needs
Absolute poverty, however, does not include a broader quality of life issues or the overall level of inequality in society. What the concept fails to recognize is that individuals also have important social and cultural needs. Although people living in relative poverty are to an extent well-off compared to those living in absolute poverty, they still cannot afford the same standard of life as other people in society.
Measured using Poverty Line Measured Using the Gini-Coefficient and Lorenzo Curve
It is not possible to completely eradicate absolute  There is a small margin of success where its eradication is concerned
Quality of life is poor  Quality of life is marginally better as those living under relative poverty have access to health care services
