Random sampling refers to the method in which each of the sampling unit (units in the population) has a non-zero probability of being selected into the sample. Simple random sampling is a special case of random sampling when each of the sampling unit has equal chance of being selected.

Non random sampling is a method of sampling wherein, it is not known that which individual from the population will be selected as a sample.

1) Momentum is defined as the quantity of motion of the body. It is measured by mass×velocity, as momentum depends upon velocity, and it depends on the direction of the motion of the body as well. Momentum is a vector quantity since velocity is vector while mass is scalar.

Momentum = Mass X Velocity

p = mv

2.  There are five basic laws of chemical combination that govern the chemical combinations of elements:

1. Law of Conservation of Mass

In simple terms, this law states that matter can neither be created nor destroyed. In other words, the total mass, that is, the sum of the mass of reacting mixture and the products formed remains constant.

2. Law of Definite Proportions

Joseph Proust, a French chemist stated that the proportion of elements by weight in a given compound will always remain exactly the same.

3. Law of Multiple Proportions

This law states that if two elements combine to form more than one compound, the masses of these elements in the reaction are in the ratio of small whole numbers. This law was given by Dalton in the year 1803.

4.  Gay Lussac’s Law of Gaseous Volumes

In 1808, Gay Lussac gave this law based on his observations. This law states that when gases are produced or combine in a chemical reaction, they do so in a simple ratio by volume given that all the gases are at the same temperature and pressure.

5. Avogadro’s Law

Avogadro proposed this law in the year 1811. It stated that under the same conditions of temperature and pressure, an equal volume of all the gases contains an equal number of molecules. This implies that 2 litres of hydrogen will have the same number of molecules as 2 litres of oxygen given that both the gases are at the same temperature and pressure.

  1. In Mendeleev periodic table, vertical columns in the periodic table and horizontal row in the periodic table were named as groups and period respectively.
  2. The periodic table is composed of seven horizontal rows or periods and is numbered between 1 and 7.
  3. There is a regular gradation in the properties of elements in the horizontal rows(periods) from left to right.
  4. The periodic table is composed of eight vertical columns or groups. They ‘re numbered between 1 to 8.
  5. If the element is similar but not much, to distinguish between them it is placed below and slightly away from it. Thus, each column will have two sub-columns A and B, so elements will show more similarity in the same sub-columns.

The bird owl has "eyes" in the front side of its head, these birds have "eyes in the front" like human beings. These birds have "binocular vision", they are usually predators.

The prey birds such as parrots have eyes at the "side of their head", so that they can see for about 300 degrees. Their eyes is bigger than the size of their head which is approximately about 2.2 size of their head.

sin30 = 1/2

sin60= √3/2

cos30= √3/2

cos60= 1/2

=> (1/2+√3/2) - (√3/2+1/2)

=> 1+√3/2 - √3+1/2

=> 1+1+√3-√3 /2

=> 2/2

White blood cells (Leucocytes)

Leucocytes are the colourless blood cells. They are colourless because it is devoid of haemoglobin. They are further classified as granulocytes and agranulocytes. WBCs mainly contribute to immunity and defence mechanism.

Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cell that function as part of the immune system. Their various functions allow them to properly respond to foreign invaders in the body. Some lymphocytes work alone, while others are able to coordinate with other cells.

We wear cotton clothes during summer as cotton absorbs sweat from the body, exposing to the atmosphere for easy evaporation. As we tend to sweat more during summer and cotton fabric absorbs sweat and help body to cool down. Cotton allows better air circulation which helps to absorb and removing body moisture caused by sweat via evaporation.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 4 months ago (2898529)

 We know that in a rectangle, opposite sides are equal and each angle is a right angle. If all its side are equal, then it becomes square. So, a square can be thought of as a special rectangle.

Mahajanapadas were states that existed between 6th and 4th BC centuries. Buddhist and Jain texts mention sixteen Mahajanapadas. The name of all these are not uniform in all texts but some names are common and uniform which means they were the powerful ones. These Mahajanapadas are Vajji, Magadha, Kaushal, Kuru, Panchal, and Gandhar.
The important features of the Mahajanapadas are as follows.
1.Most of the Mahajanapadas were ruled by powerful kings. However, there were some Mahajanapadas where rule was in the hands of people, we call them republics. In some states the king and the subject had collective control on the economic resources of the state.
2.Every Mahajanapadas had its own capital. The capital normally would be surrounded by fort. The fortification of the capital was needed for protection and economic resources.
3.It was around 6th Qentury BC, Brahmins began to compile scripture called “Dharmshastra” which states rules of morality including that of monarch. Herein it was mentioned that the king should be Kshatriya.
4.The main job of the king was collection of taxes from farmers, traders, craftsmen. They also accepted donations.
5.It was considered fair to plunder neighbouring countries for riches.
6.Gradually Mahajanapadas began to have full time army and officials. Soldiers were from the ranks of farmers.

Evidence that supports the theory

  • The Matching of Continents (Jig-Saw-Fit): The shorelines of Africa and South America facing each other match remarkably.
  • Rocks of Same Age Across the Oceans: radiometric dating methods have correlated the rock formation in different continents.
  • Tillite: The glacial tillite found in Gondwana system of sediments has its resemblance to six different landmasses of the Southern Hemisphere. Counterparts of this succession are found in Africa, Falkland Island, Madagascar, Antarctica and Australia besides India.
  • Placer Deposits: The placer deposits of gold in the Ghana coast do not have source rock in the region. The gold deposits of Ghana have been derived from the Brazil plateau when the two continents lay side by side
  • Distribution of Fossils: identical species of plants and animals adapted to living on land or in freshwater are found on either side of the marine barriers. For example remains of Mesosaurus, a freshwater crocodile-like reptile that lived during the early Permian (between 286 and 258 million years ago), are found solely in Southern Africa and Eastern South America.
