1.Active partner: A partner who contributes capital and also actively participates in the management and affairs of the business is called an active partner. He shares the profits and losses of the business and his liability is unlimited.
2.Sleeping partner: A partner who contributes capital but does not participate in the management and affairs of the business is called a sleeping partner. He shares the profits and losses of the business and has unlimited liability.
3.Secret partner : A partner whose association with the firm is not known to the general public is called a secret partner. He also contributes capital, shares profits and losses, participates in the management of the business and has unlimited liability.
4.Nominal partner : A partner who allows the
partnership firm to use his/her name but does not contribute any capital or take part in the management and affairs of the business. He does not share the profits and losses of the firm but he is liable to the creditors for the repayment of the firm’s debts.
5.Partner by estoppel: Partner by estoppel is a partner who, through his/her conduct or behaviour, gives an impression that he/she is a partner of a particular firm. Although such a person neither contributes capital nor participates in the management of the business, in the eyes of the third party he is known as a partner of that firm. Hence, he too is liable for the debts of the firms.
6.Partner by holding out : A person, who is not actually a partner of a firm but knowingly allows himself/herself to be represented as a partner of the firm is called a partner by holding out. Such a person can be held liable for the repayment of debt extended to the firm due to such representation. In order to avoid this liability, such a person should immediately clarify his position to the third party, stating the fact that he is not a partner. Failure in clarifying same would make him liable to the third party for repayment of any debts taken by the partnership firm.

The five multiple objectives of business are as follows:

1. Market standing : Market standing refers to the position of an enterprise in relation to its competitors. A business enterprise must aim at stronger market standing in terms of offering competitive products to its customers and serving them to their satisfaction.
2. Innovation : Innovation is the introduction of new ideas or methods in the way something is done or made. There are two kinds of innovation in every business, i.e.,
   (i) innovation in product or service.
   (ii) innovation in the various skills and activities needed to supply them.
3. Productivity : Productivity is calculated by comparing the value of outputs with the value of inputs. It is used as a measure of efficiency.
4. Physical and financial resources : Any business requires physical resources like plants, machines, offices, etc., and financial resources i.e. funds to be able to produce and supply goods and services to its
   customers.
5. Earning profits : One of the main objectives of business is to earn profits on the capital employed.
   Profitability refers to profit in relation to capital investment. Every business must earn a reasonable profit which is crucial for its survival and growth

Census vs Sampling

Census and Sampling are the two terms that are considered to be the opposite of each other by most of the people, which is not the case.

Census and Sampling are the processes that are used to collect survey data of the people.

One of the key differences between Census and Sampling is that census includes all the members of the population to extract data, whereas, in sampling, a large chunk of the population is considered as a single group to collect data.

Examples: working in offices, banks, insurance companies, shops, as a manager, clerk, peon, salesman etc.

Accounting can be defined as a process of reporting, recording, interpreting and summarising economic data. The introduction of accounting helps the decision-makers of a company to make effective choices, by providing information on the financial status of the business.

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) had defined accounting as the “art of recording, classifying, and summarising in a significant manner and in terms of money, transactions and events which are, in part at least, of financial character, and interpreting the results thereof”.

Advantages of Government Company:

Accounting is the process of recording financial transactions pertaining to a business. The accounting process includes summarizing, analyzing and reporting these transactions to oversight agencies, regulators and tax collection entities. Accounting or accountancy is the measurement, processing, and communication of financial and non financial information about economic entities such as businesses and corporations. As a result of economic, industrial, and technological developments, different specialized fields in accounting have emerged. The famous branches or types of accounting include: financial accounting, managerial accounting, cost accounting, auditing, taxation, AIS, fiduciary, and forensic accounting.

The economic value of an obligation or debt that is payable by the enterprise to other establishment or individual is referred to liability. To put it in other words, liabilities are the obligations that are rising out of previous transactions, which is payable by the enterprise, through the assets possessed by the enterprise.

Land resources in India are primarily divided into
agricultural land, forest land, land meant for pasture and grazing, land for other non-agricultural use(such as housing, roads and industry) and waste land (rocky, arid and desert areas). In 2002-03, 54 per cent of the total land area was cultivable or fallow, 22.5 per cent was covered by forests and 3.5 per cent was used for grazing. The rest was waste land, with traces of miscellaneous cultivation.
Improper use of forest land has degraded the available land area and made conservation of forests difficult. Human activities such as deforestation, mining and quarrying have contributed to the slow growth rate of forests. Thus, land ’ under forest has increased by only about 4 per cent since
1960-61.

A general reserve is a reserve, which is created by appropriation of profits. It is created without any specific or particular purpose. When any amount is kept separate by a company out of its profit for future purpose then that is called as general reserves. In other words the general reserves are the retained earnings of a company which are kept aside out of company's profits to meet future (known or unknown) obligations. Reserve is the profit achieved by a company where a certain amount of it is put back into the business which can help the business in their rainy days. The preceding sentence may give the unwary reader the sense that this item is an asset, a debit balance. This is false. A reserve is always a credit balance.

The southern slopes of the Himalayan region are covered in thick vegetation as compared to the northern slopes of the same hills as it receives less rainfall.

The growth of vegetation depends upon the amount of sunlight and rainfall received. The southern slopes of the Himalaya receive more rain due to the south west monsoon winds which travel west along the southern slops. The northern slopes do not receive any such rainfall. So the southern slopes are covered with thick vegetation as compared to the northern slopes.  

The village school education was quite different from the city school education. In village schools, students were taught the alphabet and the morning prayer and there was teaching about the God and the scriptures. But in the city school, the students were taught western science, English and music lessons.
