(a) 730 + 998 = 700 + 1000 = 1700

(b) 578 x 161

Rounding off 578 to the nearest hundreds, we get 600

And, rounding off 161 to the nearest hundreds, we get 200

Therefore, 600 x 200 = 1,20,000

It means that estimate of 578 x 161 is equal to 1,20,000 according to the general rule.

Easy answer Homogeneous means same, example alloys, mixture of salt and water etc. Heterogeneous means different, example mixture of sand and common salt etc.
