Pathogens stick to the bodies of carriers like houseflies when they sit on the garbage and animal excreta. The flies sit on uncovered food and may transfer the pathogens and thus contaminates the food. When a person eats contaminated food, he is likely to get sick. So, it is advisable to always keep food covered and avoid eating uncovered food.

The substance adsorbed is called adsorbate and substance on which adsorption takes place is called adsorbent.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 1 month ago (2577571)

Adsorption is a process which involves the accumulation of a substance in molecular species in higher concentration on the surface. If we look at Hydrogen, Nitrogen and Oxygen, these gases adsorb on activated charcoal. Meanwhile, we have to note that adsorption is different from absorption. The two processes involve totally different mechanisms.

For the adsorption process, two components are required,

  • Adsorbate: Substance which is deposited on the surface of another substance. For example, H2, N2 and O2 gases.
  • Adsorbent: Surface of a substance on which adsorbate adsorbs. For example, Charcoal, Silica gel, Alumina.

Physical adsorption Chemical adsorption
Weak van der Waals forces are present between adsorbate and adsorbent. Strong chemical (covalent) bonds are formed between  adsorbate and adsorbent.
It has low heat of adsorption (20 to 40 kJ/mol).  It has high heat of adsorption (40 to 200 kJ/mol).
Multilayers of adsorbed particles are formed. Monolayer of adsorbed particles  is formed.
It is not specific in nature.   It is specific in nature.

A candle flame consists of three different zones. Each zone has different temperatures. Every zone has different colour and this will help us in understanding the temperatures of each zone.

  1. The first zone is called the Outer zone
  2. The second zone is called the Middle zone
  3. The third zone is called as Inner zone

Due to complete combustion, the outer zone is blue. This zone is the hottest in temperature when compared to the other zones. This blue coloured zone is the non-luminous part of the flame.

(i) Describe the Product and specify its Contents: A label provides complete information regarding the product. It mainly includes ingredients of the product, its usage, caution in use, care to be taken while using it, date of manufacturing, batch number, etc.

(ii) Identification of the Product or Brand: It is easier to identify a particular product among many with the help of labelling. For example, you as consumer want to select CINTHOL SOAP. The task of finding the desired soap from heap of various branded soaps becomes easier with the help of labelling.

(iii) Grading of Product: When a product has different qualities, labelling helps to find out which pack contains what type of quality. For example, Hindustan Unilever Ltd., manufactures three types of tea and to differentiate the each type of tea, the company uses Green, Red and Yellow coloured labels.

(iv) Help of Promotion of Products: The Fourth function of labelling is to promote sales. Sometimes a consumer gets encouraged to buy a product simply due to attractive label. Now-a-days labelling is used as an effective sales promoting tool.

It is cheap. It burns easily in air at a moderate rate. It produces a large amount of heat. It does not leave behind any undersirable substances.

That body contain both charge positive and negative is called ions.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 1 month ago (2577571)

An ion can be defined as a chemical species which holds a positive or negative charge of some magnitude.

Several methods exist for the preparation of ions. For example, spontaneous collisions between the molecules of a liquid or gaseous fluid can result in one of the electrons being knocked off an atom/molecule. This results in the formation of a positively charged ion and a free electron. This type of ionization is commonly referred to as physical ionization. The free-electron may even go on to attach itself to another atom or molecule, resulting in the formation of a new negatively charged anion.

Another important process through which ions can be created is through chemical interactions. For example, when an ionic compound such as salt is dissolved in a suitable solvent (such as water), the atoms that constitute the salt undergo dissociation and form free ions. When common salt, also known as sodium chloride, is dissolved in water, it undergoes dissociation to yield sodium cations and chloride anions. It can be noted that the sodium cations are denoted by the symbol Na+ and the chloride anions are denoted by the symbol Cl.

Srijan Bondopadhyay 5 years, 1 month ago (10059026)

The charged species are known as ions. Ions may consist of a single charged atom or a group of atoms that have a net charge on them.

A place is classed as a subcontinent when it is part of a continent but is considered either geographically or politically as an independent entity or it is smaller than a continent.

India is often called a subcontinent because it is a distinct landmass, not just a country. While it has many features of a continent, it is not as big as one, so is not considered a continent.

India was once a continent (or at least a very large island). Due to continental drift, India moved north and became part of Asia.

India is now joined with the continent of Asia, but is a distinct area separated by the Himalayas. Originally it was a separate geologic plate, but has collided and merged with Asia.

Politically, the Indian subcontinent includes Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Sometimes, the geographical term 'Indian subcontinent' is used interchangeably with 'South Asia', although that last term is used typically as a political term and is also used to include Afghanistan.

The poem comes from hardy's memory of these 3 days in his life. altough nothing is mentioned in the poem about any of this, it is obvious that the poet is quite excited and happy about his trip.

as a young architect, the poet went to lyonnesse to supervise the renovation work of the church.the place was 100 miles away. it was winter. the leaves were covered with snow. he was alone and shaky. his only companion was the star-light.

he was unsure what situation he would have to face there during in his stay in lyonnesse. no seer could dare make a forecast.even the wisest magician could not make guess about future.

but when he returned from that place, he was very happy. his eyes shone with joy. everybody tried silently to guess the reason of his deep and uncommon happiness.
