  • rush your teeth at least twice a day with a fluoride-containing toothpaste. Preferably, brush after each meal and especially before going to bed.
  • Clean between your teeth daily with dental floss or interdental cleaners, such as the Oral-B Interdental Brush, Reach Stim-U-Dent, or Sulcabrush.
  • Rinse daily with a fluoride-containing mouthwash. Some rinses also have antiseptic ingredients to help kill bacteria that cause plaque.
  • Eat nutritious and balanced meals and limit snacks. Avoid carbohydrates such as candy, pretzels and chips, which can remain on the tooth surface. If sticky foods are eaten, brush your teeth soon afterwards.
  • Check with your dentist about use of supplemental fluoride, which strengthens your teeth.
  • Ask your dentist about dental sealants (a plastic protective coating) applied to the chewing surfaces of your back teeth (molars) to protect them from decay.

How did Franz’s feelings about Mr. Hamel and school changed?

<hr />

Being late for school, Franz was much scared of scolding by his teacher M. Hamel. When he was entering school, he noticed that there was no commotion rather M. Hamel asked the boy politely to go to his place quickly. He was surprised to see his teacher beautifully dressed. But he was all the more astonished on seeing several other dignified people of the village. In a very gentle, generous, grace and sweet voice M. Hamel said : “My children ! This is the last lesson in French, I shall give you. I want you to be attentive” These words had a soothing effect on the boy. The idea of never seeing him again forgot all about his ruler and other facts.

Then Franz was called to recite participles but he got confused. M. Hamel told that he won’t scold him. The students of Alsace had the trouble of putting off learning. So they should reproach themselves about not knowing their language. He even blamed himself as well as the parents for not learning participles. Then M. Hamel taught grammar with rapt attention and all followed him very decently. In between Franz noticed piercing pain on Hamel’s face as if he wanted to fit everything in his mind before leaving. All these facts changed Franz’s feelings about M. Hamel and school.

Mr. Crocker Harris is a middle-aged senior teacher in the same school where Frank is also a teacher. Mr. Harris teaches Latin to students. He is a very strict teacher and enjoys an admirable command over his students. He follows rules and regulations of the school quite meticulously. He is strict with his students; but he is not a sadist. He does not want his students to like him; he wants them to make sincere efforts in learning. He gives extra-work to students who show carelessness and make mistakes. Though he is strict, his students admire him.

The four main categories of communication are

  • Verbal –  It is a method that uses speech in the form of speaking to convey a message or information. It is the most popular and effective mode of communication, usually practised during video conferences, phone calls, presentations, one-on-one conversations, and meetings. It supports both nonverbal and written communication.
  • Nonverbal – It is basically a practice of gestures, facial expressions, and body language to send information. It can be implemented intentionally and unintentionally when communicating. For instance, a person can smile unintentionally when they hear an interesting piece of information or a pleasant idea.
  • Written – It is all about typing, printing symbols, numbers, letters, and writing to send a piece of information. Sometimes used to record information for evidence or reference purpose. In general, the written style of communication is used in books, blogs, pamphlets, memos, and letters to share and spread information. In the workplace,  e-mail is a common example of written communication.
  • Visual – It uses art, photographs, sketches, graphs, charts, and drawings, to pass on the information. It is used especially during presentations to present to give a visual effect and support written or verbal communication.
