मेसोपोटामिया की सभ्यता विश्व की सबसे प्राचीन सभ्यता थी या नहीं, यह एक विवादग्रस्त प्रश्न है। अधिकांश विद्वानों का मत है कि मेसोपोटामिया की सभ्यता ही सबसे प्राचीन सभ्यता थी, जबकि पेरी का कहना है कि पृथ्वी पर मिस्र में ही सर्वप्रथम सभ्यता का विकास हुआ और वहाँ से संसार के अन्य लोगों ने सभ्यता सीखी थी। नील नदी की घाटी और दजला-फरात की घाटी में बहुत-सी मुहरें, मिट्टी के बर्तन तथा पशुओं की मूर्तियाँ मिली हैं, जिनके आधार पर यह कहा जा सकता है कि मेसोपोटामिया (सुमेरिया) में चाक पर बर्तन बनाने का काम पहले प्रारम्भ हो चुका था, लेकिन चित्रकला और मूर्तिकला के क्षेत्र में मेसोपोटामिया की सभ्यता मिस्र की सभ्यता से पीछे थी। स्थापत्य-कला के क्षेत्र में मिस्रवासी मेसोपोटामिया के लोगों से बढ़-चढ़े थे और उनका जीवन-स्तर भी उच्चकोटि का था। ज्ञान-विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में दोनों  सभ्यताएँ उन्नति के शिखर पर थीं। कानून के क्षेत्र में हेम्मूराबी की संहिता के समान कोई संहिता भारत और मिस्र में उपलब्ध नहीं है। मेसोपोटामिया की सभ्यता व्यापार-प्रधान थी और मिस्र तथा भारत के साथ इसके घनिष्ठ व्यापारिक सम्बन्ध थे।

1 Definition Elements are pure substances which are composed of only one type of atom. Compound are substances which are formed by two or more different types of elements that are united chemically in fixed proportions.
2 Total Numbers There are nearly 118 elements (at present) of which nearly 94 occur naturally on Earth. Compounds are almost endless.
3 Types Elements are classified as either metals, nonmetals or metalloids. Compounds are classified according to their bonds which can be ionic, molecular or metallic.
4 Examples Some of the examples of elements are Iron, Copper, Gold, etc. A few examples of compounds are NaOH, NaCl, etc.
5 Representation Elements are represented by symbols and numbers. For example, Sodium is represented by Na. Compounds are represented by their chemical formula. For example, salt is represented by the formula NaCl.

उत्तर: धनी यात्रा पर जाने के लिए इसलिए उत्सुक था क्योंकि वह देश की स्वतंत्रता की लड़ाई में भाग लेना चाहता है। गाँधीजी को अपना सहयोग देना चाहता था। अगर मैं धनी की जगह होता तो मैं भी यात्रा पर जाने की जिद करता क्योंकि धनी की तरह मैं भी जागरूक हूँ।
