The poet describes his life experience and says that long ago he had two choices to make. He had chosen one and moved ahead with it.

In this poem the road not taken , the poet personifies the two diverging roads as the the choices or decision . As the poet didn't took the road which was often used by others shows his quality of risk taking and his will to do something different from others .
