India faced numerous problems after its independence. Due to the partition, approximately 80 lakh refugees came back to India from Pakistan. The re-habilitation of these refugees was a major challenge. The second challenge was to integrate the 562 small and big princely states into United India. The third major challenge was to build a stable political system to fulfil the expectations and hopes of the people and develop India into a strong nation.

The central idea is something which connects the whole poem and helps the readers understand the poem easily. It is an anti war poem. In the poem ‘Keeping Quiet’ emphasis is laid upon introspection and retrospection to analyze and understand one's activities. Dear Uncle,
I hope you are in the best of your health and I am also doing good at this end.
Well, I celebrated my birthday a week ago. I celebrated it with the fullest enjoyment and entertainment. My mom had baked a chocolate cake, it was very yummy. I and my dad had invited my relatives and many of my friends including you. This birthday wasn't much special for me. I really missed your love towards me and that special gifts which you used to gift me. Unfortunately, you weren't available at that moment. I really missed you, uncle. No worries, I will surely come to visit you soon.
Please do reply soon, I will be eagerly waiting for your letter.
Yours truly,
Aparna
