The Brook by Alfred Lord Tennyson is an autobiographical poem. In the poem, the brook describes the journey of its life from haunts of coot and hern to the brimming river.

It describes the journey and how it passes through so many hurdles and obstacles. But it overcomes all of the obstacles. It emerges out suddenly and makes a lot of noise and commotion. On its way, it passes by many bridges, hills, towns, and villages.

However, its journey never comes to an end as it keeps flowing continuously. The existence of men is transitory but the brook flows on forever. Its existence is eternal.
