Staff Selection Commission, New Delhi conducts combined graduate level examination every year for filling up various posts in difference central government departments under Union of India. The exam is conducted in two/three phases called tiers. For most the vacancies there are only tier-1 and tier-2 exam. More than 15 lakh candidates sit in SSC CGL examinations.
SSC CGL 2017 Exam Date
In 2017, SSC will conduct combined graduate level examination tier-1 between June 16, 2017 and July 02, 2017 through computer based objective type examination. Students will get 17 days to take the examination in designated centers. The whole question paper will carry multiple choice type questions only. Student will be penalized for wrong answers. Means, there will be negative marking for wrong response. No marks will be deducted against answered questions.
The detailed notification regarding vacancies and eligibility will be published on March 11, 2017 in employment news. SSC CGL 2017 exam notification will include all the details regarding how to fill the online examination form and how to register online for SSC CGL 2016 examination.
Last date of filling the SSC CGL 2017 exam will be April 15, 2017. It is suggested to fill the form in time to avoid last minute rush and server downtime issues.
SSC CGL 2017 Eligibility and Syllabus
The basic educational qualification for appearing in SSC CGL exam is bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
For some specific posts like assistant audit officer, statistical investigator, compiler etc, there may be some specification qualification. For example, for Assistant Audit Officer, Essential Qualifications is Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute and Desirable Qualifications for the Post of Assistant Audit Officer is Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.
For Statistical Investigator Grade – II, Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard level: OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
For Compiler, Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject.
In tier 1 examination, there will be four sections, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension.
