The cathode in the electroplating circuit is the part that needs to be plated. It is also called the substrate. This part acts as the negatively charged electrode in the circuit. Solution: The electrodepositing reaction takes place in an electrolytic solution. The part to be coated acts as the cathode (negative electrode) of an electrolytic cell; the electrolyte is a solution of a salt of the metal to be coated; and the anode (positive electrode) is usually either a block of that metal, or of some inert conductive material.

The chapter is titled the last lesson because it was M. Hamel's last French lesson in the school. On the last day of school M. Hamel wore his special suit which comprised his beautiful green coat, frilled shirt and a little black silk cap, all embroidered because it was the last lesson that he would deliver. He never wore this attire except on inspection and prize days. He wore this as a mark of respect for the language and culture which is being invaded by the foreigners.

Multiple Cropping:

  • It is a traditional method of farming.
  • It includes growing more than one crop on a piece of land during the same year.
  • This method involves using of traditional seeds that requires less irrigation, wooden tools and equipments, ancient machinery, etc.
  • Thus, the productivity of this method tends to remain low.

Modern Farming:

  • It is a modern method of farming.
  • It includes growing of one crop on a single piece of land at one point of time.
  • This method
  • involves using of high yield varieties (HVY) of seeds, chemical fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides in large quantities, modern machinery, etc.
  • Thus, the productivity of this method is high, however, it is not environment friendly.

The poem ‘A Tiger in the Zoo’ by Leslie Norris. In this poem, the poet tries to depict the mental condition of a caged tiger. He compares the life of a tiger in the zoo with its life in its natural habitat. The poet conveys an important message that the wild animals should be in their natural habitat. In the poem, he heightens the contrast between freedom and captivity. He, very impressively, shows us how love for freedom is the natural instinct of every living being.

LPG is a liquid fuel , its calorific value is more, it does not produce any smock,

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 2 months ago (2577571)

Wood has been a traditional fuel for both domestic and industrial use. However, it produces a lot of smoke that can cause respiratory problems. Also, wood is obtained from trees. Thus, using wood as a fuel causes deforestation. Therefore, slowly wood is replaced by LPG, which is a liquefied form of petroleum gas. It does not give out smoke and other pollutants and is a cleaner fuel. Again, fuel efficiency of LPG is more than that of wood. The calorific value of LPG is 55000 kj/kg, while that of wood is between 17000 to 22000 kj/kg. Hence, LPG is favoured over wood.
