  • Mass defect:-
    • Mass defect is the difference in the mass of nucleus and its constituents(neutrons and protons).
    • It is denoted by ΔM.
    • Mathematically :- ΔM = [Z mp+ (A-Z) mn]- M
      • Where mp=mass of 1 proton, Z=number of protons,(A-Z)= mass of neutrons, mN = mass of 1 neutronand M =nuclearmass of the atom.
    • For example: -(168O)àOxygen atom has 8 protons and 8 neutrons.
    • Mass of 8 protons à (8x1.00866) u and Mass of 8 neutrons à(8x1.00727) u.
    • Therefore Oxygen nucleus à(8p+8n) à8(1.00866 + 1.00727) = 16.12744u.
    • From spectroscopy ->Atomic mass of (168O) =15.9949u.
    • Mass of 8 electrons =(8x0.00055) u.
    • Therefore Nuclear mass of (168O) = (15.9949 – (8x0.00055)) =15.99053u.
    • Nuclear mass is less than sum of the masses of its constituents.
    • This difference in mass is known as mass defect.
    • It is also known as excess mass.

Time taken by A to complete a work = x days
Time taken by B to complete the same work = 2x days
According to the question,
1/ x + 1/ 2x=1/12
=> 3/2x=1/12
x=3×12/ 2
Time taken by B to complete the same work = 2x=2×18 =36days

Yogita Ingle 5 years ago (2577571)

Consider triangle YPZ

Angle P=120

It is a isosceles triangle so

Angle Y=Z

Linear pair

180-120=60

60/2 = 30

Bisector Y=30+20

y = 50

Yogita Ingle 5 years ago (2577571)

In ∆ PYZ,

<YPZ =120°

PY=PZ

.'.<PYZ= 180°-120°/2=60°/2=30°

'.'<XYP= 40°

.'. <XYZ = 40° + 30° = 70°

The bond formed by the transference of electrons from one atom to another is called as ionic bond. The conditions required for the formation of stable ionic bond are: 1)the value of ionisation enthalpy should be low. 2)the value of electron gain enthalpy should be greater negative 3) lattice enthalpy should be high

Yogita Ingle 5 years ago (2577571)

The electrostatic force of attraction which holds the two oppositely charged ions together is called the ionic bond.

Ionic bond and factors affecting it

  • It is formed by transfer of electrons.
  • It is formed between metal and no metal.
  • In it metal always loses electrons and non-metal always accepts electron.

During the formation of methane molecule the carbon atom undergoes sp3 hybridization in the excited state by mixing one 2s and three 2p orbitals to furnish four half filled sp3 hybrid orbitals which are oriented in tetrahedral symmetry in space around the carbon atom. Each of these sp3 hybrid orbitals forms a σsp3-s bond with one hydrogen atom. Thus carbon forms four σsp3-s bonds with four hydrogen atoms.Methane molecule is tetrahedral in shape with 109°28 bond angle.

The amount of energy required to remove the most loosely bound electron from outermost shell found in an isolated gaseous state to form a cation is called as ionization enthalpy. The tendancy of an element to attract the bond pair of an electrons of another atom is called as electronegativity Variation in ionisation enthalpy: 1)As we go down the group.,the ionisation enthalpy should be low because of high shielding effect. 2)As we move left to right in a period the ionisation enthalpy should be high due to high nuclear charge Variation in electronegativity : 1)As we go down the group the electronegativity decreases due to greater atomic size and less attractive force 2)as we moving left to right in a period the electronegativity increase due to smaller atomic size and more force of attraction

Yogita Ingle 5 years ago (2577571)

Ionization Enthalpy of elements is the amount of energy that an isolated gaseous atom requires to lose an electron in its ground state. Losing of electrons results in the formation of cations.

Answer:
Practice means constant use of one’s intellectual and aesthetic powers. Perfect means ‘ideal, complete and excellent’. Proper planning and practice promote perfect performance. Practice depends on training and it means repeating an activity. Constant practice also sharpens talent.

One has to follow certain qualities to be perfect. These are hard work, strong will power, faith, tolerance, positive approach, self-confidence and dedication. The quality that prepares one for all other qualities is practice. One should not stop practising and be satisfied until one achieves perfection.

Practice is the best way by which one can achieve perfection. Practice makes one feel and understand the same idea or thing again and again. The more one practices, the more errorless one becomes. One doesn’t repeat the errors that were done previously. Practice begins in the cradle and ends in the grave. Right from childhood, man practises various activities like talking, reading, writing, eating, cooking, etc. For learning an art or any activity, one needs constant practice.

A child practises speaking first by’learning the alphabet, then the words, sentences and finally the speech. A child through repeated practice reaches perfection in speaking. One can’t ride a bicycle or a motor bike or drive a car at the very first instance. One needs to practise till one achieves perfection in the same. The same method applies to other areas too. Be it fine arts, cooking or writing. Determined to overcome his phobia of water, Douglas got trained under an instructor. He conquered this terror with an adamant determination, patience, undeterred single-mindedness and relentless efforts. He became fearless and courageous.

Practice enables a person to reach the heights of success in all walks of life. Practice develops outstanding qualities in one’s character. Practice not only brings perfection but also helps in building character. Thus, it is practice that makes a man perfect and helps a human being who faces every challenge in life.

In Saudi Arabia women do not have the right to vote.Estonia has made its citizenship rules in such a way that people belonging to Russian minority find it difficult to get the right to vote.In Fiji, vote of an indigenous Fiji has more value than that of an Indian Fiji. These points give us the third feature of democracy. That is: In a democracy, each adult citizen must have one vote and each vote must have one value.

CBSE has rationalized the syllabus with the help of suggestions from NCERT and the same has been notified by a new CBSE notification as well.

The CBSE syllabus has been reduced but care has been taken so that the learning outcomes remain the same and the students do not miss out on learning core concepts in various subjects.

However, CBSE stated in its notification that though 30% of the syllabus has been cut from the new academic year, teachers should ensure that students understand these topics so that they can use the information in connection with other topics.
