Advancement of international trade of a country is an index to its prosperity:

1. Resources are space-bound so countries need to trade with each other to procure various resources.

 2. When the value of exports exceeds the value of imports, its favourable balance of trade. This shows a positive condition of the economy.

3. When the value of imports exceeds the value of exports, its unfavourable balance of trade. This is negative for an economy.

4. Increased international trade shows increased relations between countries which is mutually beneficially.

 5. International trade is also considered an economic barometer for a country because it's a huge source of income as well as a sign of development.

Slant height of the conical cup, 'l' = radius of the semi-circular sheet, R = 14 cm
Let radius and height of the conical cup be 'r' and 'h' respectively.
Circumference of the base of the cone = Length of arc of the semi-circle
Or, 2πr = (1/2)2πR
Or, 2πr = (1/2)(2π)(14)
Or, r = 7 cm
Now, we know that l² = h² + r²
(14)² = (h)² + (7)²
h² = 196 - 49
h = √147
Height or depth of the conical cup = 12.124 cm
Now, capacity of the conical cup = 1/3πr²h
= 1/3*22/7*7*7*12.124
= 13069.672/21
Capacity of the conical cup = 622.365 cu cm

Because of gravity between them

Gaurav Seth 4 years, 11 months ago (2898529)

The moon never actually falls on the surface of the earth.

Now, to understand this, we first need to understand the nature of the force between the moon and earth and also the movement of the moon under this force.

So, the gravitational force is the force that acts between the earth and the moon, and the moon moves in the circular orbital due to the centripetal force generated by the gravitational force.

Similarly, earth and sun also experience this gravitational force between themselves.

So, yes the moon does fall towards the earth, but the earth also moves in its orbit and covers more distance away from the moon relative to the distance covered by the moon.

Hence, the moon never falls on the surface of the earth

When Taplow tells Frank that he was supposed to meet Mr Crocker-Harris at six-thirty, Frank tells Taplow that Mr Crocker-Harris was already ten minutes late. He suggests that Taplow could go and play golf. But Taplow is shocked and expresses his apprehension if Mr Crocker-Harris should know. He was certain that nobody had ever done that with Mr Crocker-Harris.

The weather is fine. It is ideal for playing golf. But Taplow does not dare to cut his teacher. He did ask him the previous day if he had declared him fit for promotion. He imitates Mr Crocker-Harris’s voice and repeats what he said. He only said that he had given him exactly what he deserved, no less, and certainly no more. Taplow can’t help saying that Mr Crocker-Harris is hardly human. Suddenly, Taplow realises that he has been rude towards his teacher. He suddenly feels sorry for his audacity. He admits that he got carried away.

Taplow was afraid of Mr. Crocker Harris because Mr. Harris was a strict , mannered, and disciplined teacher . But according to Taplow Mr. Crocker Harris is not a sadist because he rarely displays any human emotions. Instead Taplow find Mr. Cocker Harris to be shrunken from within as his emotions are almost dead. So that's why he finds it strange how Mr. Crocker Harris disliked to be liked

Yogita Ingle 4 years, 11 months ago (2577571)

Sadist is a person who takes pleasure in inflicting pain to others; Crocker Harris did not give any sort of physical or mental pain to anyone. He just kept a safe distant from his students and maintained a professional relationship with his students and colleagues. Every student knew he was strict, but not sadist.

Taplow knows that a sadist gets pleasure from inflicting pain. But, according to Taplow, Mr. Crocker Harris is not a sadist because he rarely displays any human emotions. Instead, Taplow finds Mr. Crocker Harris to be shrunken from within as his emotions are almost dead. He finds it strange how Mr. Harris disliked to be liked.

Frank is a young science teacher at the school. We get to know about him from his conversation with the boy Taplow. On the whole, he appears to be a mean and petty person. He envies Crocker-Harris, who keeps his students under control. He provokes Taplow to comment on his teacher and also to imitate his voice. This is unbecoming of a teacher to discuss his colleague with a boy. He suggests to Taplow to slip away because Crocker-Harris is late in coming and the weather is fine. Mrs Millie Crocker-Harris is a kind hearted and easy going person. She is very smart. She rescues Taplow by sending him out on an errand.

He believes in fair assessment of his students and is not swayed by emotions, as the man is hardly human. He is not a sadist, but strict in performance of his duties. (i) Although Louis XVI signed the Constitution of 1791, he entered into secret negotiations with the King of Prussia. Rulers of other neighbouring countries too were worried by the developments in France and made plans to send troops to suppress the events that had been taking place since the summer of 1789.
(ii) But before this could happen, the National Assembly declared war against Prussia and Austria in 1792. Thousands of volunteers came from the provinces to join the army. They saw this as a war of the people against the king and aristocrats all over Europe.
(iii) The revolutionary war brought losses and economic difficulties to the people. Despite that large sections of the population were convinced that the revolution had to be carried further, as the Constitution of 1791 gave political rights only to the richer sections of society.
(iv) As a result, political clubs emerged. The most successful of these clubs was that of the Jacobins, who belonged to the less prosperous sections of society. Their leader was Maximillian Robespierre.
(v) In the summer of 1792 the Jacobins planned an insurrection of a large number of Parisians who were angered by the short supplies and high prices of food.
(vi) On August 10 they stormed the palace of the Tuileries, killed the king's guards and held the king himself as a hostage for several hours. Later the Assembly voted to imprison the royal family.
(vii) Elections were held. The newly elected assembly, called the Convention, abolished the monarchy and declared France a republic on 21 September, 1792.
(viii) Louis XVI was executed publicly at Place de la Concorde. The queen Marie Antoinette met with the same fate shortly after.

Taplow thinks his teacher Mr Crocker-Harris is strict but not a sadist. He thinks that the teacher is unbiased, dutiful and very disciplined. He doesn't get easily impressed by anyone's efforts. He doesn't appreciate the effort of Taplow who comes to school on the last as he misses one class before. He doesn't like to be liked by others. He seems feeling less and maintains a distance from the students.
