Saw one of her friends walking by the stalls in the station. She walked upto her friend and started talking to her .There had been a announcement stating that the train from Karwar to Mangalore will be arriving shortly. Lost in her talks she ignored the announcement and continued with her talk. Actually she had been waiting for this train from the past two hrs. After the arrival of the train sandhya took it to be some other train and continued with her talk. After a while her friend told her that she was getting late and bid her goodbye. Sandhya looked at her watch and realised that the train was delayed by 3hrs now. She grew more restless and decided to talk to the station authorities. When she inquired them she learnt that the train she had been waiting for had already gone and that she had missed it. This upset her. She asked the authorities again that whether there was any other train to mangalore. They replied that there was one train at 6pm but the arrival of the train was not sure due to the bad weather in the stations it covered . She sat there hoping for the train to arrive. Finally there was announcement at 5 stating that the train to Mangalore. This filled her with joy. When the train train arrived at 6 sandhya was very happy and entered resolving that she would never ignore any announcement anytime in future and never show any sort of carelessness attitude.

Rising Prices: An Ordeal for Common Man
Nalini
A rise in prices, economists say, is a sign of development and prosperity. However, during the last two decades, prices of almost all the essential commodities have been increasing at an alarming rate. These soaring prices have caused great unrest and frustration among the people. The people belonging to the middle class and the salaried people are hit hard.
The prices of petrol, cooking gas, kerosene oil, and several other items of daily use are increasing every year. Not only that, railway fares, airfares, and bus and taxi charges are also increasing regularly. There are many causes of the unprecedented rise in prices. Inflation, black marketing, hoarding, faulty credit system, overpopulation and improper system of distribution are some of the major causes of hike in prices.
There should be an equitable distribution through fair price shops. Shopkeepers should be directed to display the stock of essential commodities along with their prices. Those people who buy things in the black market should be punished. Production of food should be increased. Sincere efforts should be made to stabilize the prices of essential commodities. Let us hope that the government will be able to bring down soaring prices. What is needed is the right intention and the force of will.

Given quadratic equation is p(x-4)(x-2)+(x-1)² = 0
=> p(x²-4x-2x+8)+(x²-2x+1) = 0
=> p(x²-6x+8)+(x²-2x+1) = 0
=> px²-6px+8p+x²-2x+1 = 0
=> (px²+x²)+(-6px-2x)+8p+1 = 0
=> (p+1)x²-(6p+2)x+(8p+1) = 0
On comparing with the standard quadratic equation is ax²+bx+c = 0 then
a = p+1
b = -(6p+2)
c = 8p+1
Given that
Given equation has real and equal roots
=> The discriminant = 0
We know that
The discriminant of ax²+bx+c = 0 is b²-4ac
Therefore, b²-4ac = 0
=> [-(6p+2)]²-4(p+1)(8p+1) = 0
=> (6p+2)²-4(p+1)(8p+1) = 0
=> (36p²+24p+4)-4(8p²+p+8p+1) = 0
=> (36p²+24p+4)-4(8p²+9p+1) = 0
=> 36p²+24p+4-32p²-36p-4 = 0
=> (36p²-32p²)+(24p-36p)+(4-4) = 0
=> 4p² -12p+0 = 0
=> 4p² - 12 p = 0
=> 4p(p-3) = 0
=> 4p = 0 or p-3 = 0
=> p = 0/4 or p = 3
=> p = 0 or p = 3
If p = 0 the term containing p doesn't exist .
Therefore, p = 3

Dear Diary:
Today I am going to share with you my feelings about my visit to a school for the blind. The school conducted this trip as a part of social service and moral education class. I was really moved to see these special children with visual disabilities. I saw them studying with unique focus. Though technology has developed special audio and Braille books for them, but still their deprivation was tangible. The one thing I liked the most about them was their zest for life. They seemed to be least affected by their deprivation. Interacting with them I felt so humble! I also realized how fortunate I am to have this blessing of vision. I wish all those children and all the people in the world who are suffering from visual deprivation all the success, health, and contentment. God bless all of them!
