Class 9 Science CCE Syllabus 2010-2011 for Term 1 and Term 2

CCE Syllabus for class 9 Science for session 2010-2011 prescribed for First Term (April 2010 to September 2010) and Second Term (October 2010 to March 2011) issued by CBSE, New Delhi.

Highlights for CBSE Board Exam 2010

CBSE Board exams are going to start from 3rd March 2010. Total 1601646 students are registered this year in class 10 and class 12 for March 2010 CBSE Board exams. This number has increased by approx 9% this year in comparison to last year.

This year the total number of special category students is 1891 in class X and 1309 in class 12. It is a bit lesser than that of previous year.

Class-IX March 2010 Examination under Summative Assessment-II

The first examination under CCE scheme will be conducted for class 9 second term in March 2010. It covers 40% weightage as part of summative assessment in second term. Total weightage of 2nd term assessment is 60% of total syllabus. Two formative assessments of 10% each have been conducted in the school in form of projects and assignments.

Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) in CBSE class 9 and 10

The Board has extended the concept of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) in class IX with effect from October 2009 to be continued in class X for the year 2010-11 onwards.

For this purpose syllabus has been split up over two terms. Each term will have two formative tests of 10% weightage each and one summative test of weightage 20% and 40 % respectively.

Important Information Regarding 2010 Examinations

CBSE has introduced two new courses in class 12 this year. Class XII Student will appear for the first time in Graphics Design Course (Code NO – 71) and Heritage Crafts (Code no 70). Sample Question papers in both the subjects have been posted on the Board’s website www.cbse.nic.in.

The scheme of making CBSE Board exam optional in class 10 is not applicable in March 2010 examinations. All students of Class X in the current academic year (2009-2010) will be taking the CBSE Board’s Class X 2010 Examination.

Heads of all the schools affiliated with the CBSE under Delhi Region may collect the Admit Cards for class X & XII examination 2010 from the Regional Office, Delhi during working hours.
