Prior to declaration of results of Senior School Certificate (Class XII) and Secondary School (Class X) the Board adopts the Moderation Policy in the following manner:
NEW DELHI: Taking the first step towards giving the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) an international character, the HRD ministry has decided that from the next academic session CBSE-affiliated schools abroad will have an international syllabus.
Even CBSE schools in India will be free to introduce this syllabus. While no change will be brought in the mathematics and science syllabus, language and social science will undergo complete change. The new syllabus is likely to be finalized within a month.

CCE Syllabus for class 10 Social Science for session 2010-2011 prescribed for First Term (April 2010 to September 2010) and Second Term (October 2010 to March 2011) issued by CBSE, New Delhi.
The formative assessment will comprise of Projects, assignments, activities and Class Tests/ periodic tests for which Board has already issued guidelines to the schools.

As per CCE guidelines the syllabus of Science for classes IX & X has been divided term wise. The units specified for each term shall be assessed through both Formative and Summative assessments.
CCE Syllabus for class 10 Mathematics for session 2010-2011 prescribed for First Term (April 2010 to September 2010) and Second Term (October 2010 to March 2011) issued by CBSE, New Delhi. As per CCE guidelines, the syllabus of Mathematics for classes IX and X has been divided term wise. The units specified for each term shall be assessed through both formative and summative assessment. In each term, there will be two formative assessments each carrying 10% weightage.
CCE Syllabus for class 10 English Language and Literature (Course B) for session 2010-2011 prescribed for First Term (April 2010 to September 2010) and Second Term (October 2010 to March 2011) issued by CBSE, New Delhi. The complete syllabus is divided into four sections i.e. Reading, Writing, Grammar and Literature. Reading, writing and grammar section has equal weightage of 15 marks whereas literature section carries 35 marks. There will be TWO FORMATIVE and ONE SUMMATIVE test in first term.
CBSE Board exams are going to start from 3rd March 2010. Total 1601646 students are registered this year in class 10 and class 12 for March 2010 CBSE Board exams. This number has increased by approx 9% this year in comparison to last year.
This year the total number of special category students is 1891 in class X and 1309 in class 12. It is a bit lesser than that of previous year.

CBSE has announced the dates and rules for Board Exams 2010. Following details are useful:
1. Preparations for smooth conduct of Board Exams 2010
(i) The sealed question paper packets will be opened in the presence of at least four Asstt. Superintendents-one of them would be from the school other than the examination centre as a witness.
(ii) The center material has been dispatched to all the CBSE Board Exams 2010 centers.
