Quit India Movement
- On august 8, 1942 the All India Congress Committee adopted a resolution in favour of starting a mass movement.
- Gandhiji named it ‘Quit India’ movement.
- The congress demanded the immediate ending of the British rule in India.
- The repressive policy and cruel atrocities were committed on the innocent people.
- Mass arrests were made and thousands of Indians became the target of the British bullets.

Advantages of sexual reproduction:
Sexual reproduction has a dual significance for the species.
1) It results in multiplication and perpetuation of the species.
2) It contributes to evolution of the species by introducing variation in a population much more rapidly than asexual reproduction.
3) In sexual reproduction, more variations are produced. Thus, it ensures survival of species in a population.
4) The new formed individual has characteristics of both the parents.
5) Variations are more viable in sexual mode than in asexual one. This is because in asexual reproduction, DNA has to function inside the inherited cellular apparatus.
