A reason is that multicellular organismsneed special organs for exchange of gases with the environment because of prokaryotic cells found in the body. The cells are not in contact with the environment and therefore diffusion would not work in the exchange of gases. The organs in the body therefore serve this purpose

Because of maintaining a great metabolism and it has more organ to function various activities there fore they need to lot of oxygen or other energy by which it can role their functions
