During Gandhiji’s salt march, thousands of women came out of their homes to listen to him. They participated in protest marches, manufactured salt, and picketed foreign cloth and liquor shops. Many went to jail. But Gandhiji was convinced that it was the duty of women to look after home and health, be good mothers and good wives.
For a long time, the Congress was reluctant to allow women to hold any position of authority within the organisation.

The mode of nutrition in which an organism is able to prepare its own food is called autotrophic mode of nutrition. Green plants follow autotrophic mode of nutrition.

Autotrophic nutrition is mainly of two types: photoautotrophic and chemoautotrophic nutrition.

Autotrophs which synthesise organic matter from inorganic substances using the energy from sunlight through photosynthesis are termed as photoautotrophs. E.g. plants, algae, cyanobacteria, phytoplanktons.

Autotrophs which synthesise organic matter from inorganic substances using chemical energy are termed as chemoautotrophs. E.g. nitrifying bacteria like Nitrosomonas, thermophilic bacteria like Thiobacillus.

The presence of any of the following changes helps us to determine that a chemical reaction has taken place.

  1. Formation of new substance(s)
  2. Change in state
  3. Change in colour
  4. Change in temperature
  5. Formation of a precipitate
  6. Evolution of a gas
For example, if on mixing two substances a gas is evolved, then we can say that a chemical reaction has taken place.

The 1848 revolution of the liberals refers to the various national movements pioneered by educated middle classes alongside the revolts of the poor, unemployed and starving peasants and workers in Europe. While in countries like France, food shortages and widespread unemployment during 1848 led to popular uprisings, in other parts of Europe (such as Germany, Italy, Poland, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire), men and women of the liberal middle classes came together to voice their demands for the creation of nation-states based on parliamentary principles. The political, social and economic ideas supported by the liberals were:

  •  Politically, they demanded constitutionalism with national unification, nation-state with a written constitution and parliamentary administration.
  •  Socially, they wanted to rid society of its class-based partialities and birthrights. Serfdom and bonded labor had to be abolished.
  •  Economically they demanded freedom of markets and right to property. The abolition of state-imposed restrictions on the movements of goods and capital.

"The land under "pasture" has declined and this decline has put enormous pressure on existing pasturelands. As a result, there is a risk of good quality and optimal quantity of livestock fodder production.

Some of the already known pasture lands are not suitable for cultivation but of poor quality. The cultivation costs are very high in the rest of the existing pasturelands and are therefore only cultivated once or twice in 2 to 3 years."

Like any wave, the speed of a light wave is dependent upon the properties of the medium. In the case of an electromagnetic wave, the speed of the wave depends upon the optical density of that material. The optical density of a medium is not the same as its physical density.

Cellular Respiration Photosynthesis
Occurs in all living organisms. Occurs only in all green plants, algae, and in some bacteria.
The entire process occurs in Mitochondria. The entire process occurs in Chloroplasts.
Glucose and oxygen are the reactants of this process. Carbon dioxide, water, and light energy are the reactants of this process.
Carbon dioxide, water, and energy (ATP) are the by-products. Glucose, oxygen, and water are the by-products.
Undergoes Catabolic Process. Undergoes Anabolic Process.
Oxygen is taken in and carbon dioxide is liberated out. Producing food and capturing energy.
In this process, food particles are broken down to release energy. In this process, food is synthesis by capturing the energy.
It is an exergonic reaction as energy is released. It is an endothermic reaction as it requires energy.
This process does not require sunlight since cellular respiration occurs all the time. This process requires sunlight since photosynthesis occurs only in the presence of sunlight.

The chemical reaction of cellular Respiration is                       C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O

The chemical reaction of photosynthesis is                 6CO2 + 6H2O → C6H12O6+ 6O2
