Discomposed by the sufferings of the people, Siddhartha went out into the world to seek enlightenment. Wandering for seven years, he finally sat under a fig tree and waited till the enlightenment came. His seven days long meditation yielded him Enlightenment. He renamed that tree as the Bodhi Tree (Tree of Wisdom) and began to teach and to share his new understandings. Then he came to be known as the Buddha (the Awakened or the Enlightened).

Tricki was a dachshund dog who had been pampered to such an extent that overfeeding, luxuries, and facilities became the cause of his illness. He became so fat that he could not walk properly. The narrator, who was a vet, lived in Mrs. Pumphrey’s neighborhood; he saw Tricki’s condition deteriorate regularly. He suggested to Mrs. Pumphrey to follow strict regimen for Tricki, but Mrs. Pumphrey did not pay much attention to it.
One day Tricki stopped eating even his favorite dishes. He just lay listlessly on the floor. The narrator was called; he suggested Tricki needed hospitalization. Actually he had a special plan for him to make him well.
At his hospital, he kept Tricki on strict diet. He gave him plenty of water to drink. In the company of other dogs, Tricki began moving and playing with them. Within a few days Tricki improved. The narrator did not give any food and wine to Tricki that Mrs. Pumphrey sent everyday for him.
After a fortnight Tricki became normal and healthy and Mrs. Pumphrey thought the narrator had done some surgery on Tricki.

The 1848 revolution of the liberals refers to the various national movements pioneered by educated middle classes alongside the revolts of the poor, unemployed and starving peasants and workers in Europe. While in countries like France, food shortages and widespread unemployment during 1848 led to popular uprisings, in other parts of Europe (such as Germany, Italy, Poland, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire), men and women of the liberal middle classes came together to voice their demands for the creation of nation-states based on parliamentary principles. The political, social and economic ideas supported by the liberals were:
- Politically, they demanded constitutionalism with national unification, nation-state with a written constitution and parliamentary administration.
- Socially, they wanted to rid society of its class-based partialities and birthrights. Serfdom and bonded labor had to be abolished.
- Economically they demanded freedom of markets and right to property. The abolition of state-imposed restrictions on the movements of goods and capital.

The First World War created a new economic and political situation.
• It led to a huge increase in defence expenditure which was financed by war loans and increasing taxes
• customs duties were raised and income tax introduced.
• Through the war years prices increased - doubling between 1913 and 1918 - leading to extreme hardship for the common people.
• Villages were called upon to supply soldiers, and the forced recruitment in rural areas caused widespread anger.
• Then in 1918-19 and 1920-21, crops failed in many parts of India, resulting in acute shortages of food.
• This was accompanied by an influenza epidemic.
• According to the census of 1921, 12 to 13 million people perished as a result of famines and the epidemic.
• People hoped that their hardships would end after the war was over. But that did not happen.

percentage decrease in acceleration due to gravity is 2%
acceleration due to gravity of earth depends on height from its surface.
g = g0/(1 + h/r)²
given, h = 64 km, radius of the earth, r = 6400 km
so, g = g0/(1 + 64/6400)² = g0/(1 + 0.01)²
⇒g =g0/(1.01)²
decrease in g, ∆g = g0 - g
= g0 - g0/(1.01)²
= g0[ (1.01² - 1)/(1.01)² ]
now percentage change in acceleration due to gravity, ∆g/g0 × 100 = (1.01² - 1)/(1.01)² × 100 = 1.97 % ≈ 2%

Richard Ebright was a multi-faceted and versatile personality. He was not only man with scientific mind, but also had a panache for sports and other-co-curricular activities such as debates, declamations, etc.
His mother encouraged him to take interest in collecting butterflies, rocks, fossils, coins; astronomy, photography, mountaineering, etc.
Since his childhood, he earned top grades in school. At the age of seven he started participating in science fairs. Science attracted him the most; in eighth grade he did an experiment to find the cause of viral disease that killed a large number of monarch butterflies. This experiment won him a prize.
Then he did many experiment such as finding out why Viceroys butterflies resembled monarch butterflies, discovery of an unknown insect hormone, growing cells from a monarch’s wings, discovering the chemical structure of the hormone, and the role of DNA.
In conclusion we can say, Richard Ebright displayed a well-rounded personality that culminated in his brilliance in science.
