  • Economists suggest that the values of goods and services should be used rather than adding up the actual numbers. The value of goods and seivices in the three sectors are calculated and thep added up.
  • Not every good (or service), that is produced and sold, needs to be counted. It makes sense only to include final goods and services.
For example: A farmer sells wheat to a flour mill for ? 8 per kg. The mill grinds the wheat and sells the flour to a biscuit company for ? 10 per kg. The biscuit company uses flour, sugar and oil to make the packets of biscuits. It sells biscuits in the market to the consumer for ? 15 per packet. Now, biscuits are the final goods, i.e., goods that reach the consumer.
  • Intermediate goods are used up in producing final goods and services. The value of final goods already includes the value of all the intermediate goods that are used in making the final goods.
So, the value of final goods and services produced in each sector during a particular year, provides the total production of the sector for that year. And the sum of production in three sectors gives us the ‘Gross.Domestic Product or GDP’.

The story, ‘We’re Not afraid to Die-if We Can All Be Together’ is a story of extreme courage and skill exhibited by Gordon Cook, his family, and crewmen in a war with water and waves for survival. In July 197 6, the narrator, his wife Mary, son Jonathan and daughter Suzanne set sail from Plymouth, England to duplicate the round-the-world voyage made 200 years earlier by Captain James Cook. They took the voyage in their professionally built ship, the Wavewalker, accompanied by two experienced sailors – Larry Vigil, an American and Herb Seigler, a Swiss, to tackle one of the world’s roughest seas – the Southern Indian Ocean. The first part of the journey, that is, about 105,000 kilometers up to Cape Town passed off very, pleasantly. On the second day out of Cape Town, -they began to encounter strong gales. Gales did not worry about the narrator. But the size of the waves was alarming – up to 15 meters, as high as the mainmast. On 25th December, the writer’s ship was in the southern Indian Ocean, 3500 kilometers to the east of Cape Town. The family celebrated their new year onboard the ship. At dawn on January 2, the waves were gigantic. Unfriendly weather and gigantic waves compelled the sailors to slow their speed, drop storm jib, and take other precautions. The danger was so obvious that the sailors completed a life-raft drill, attached lifelines, and life jackets. Suddenly at 6 pm, a tremendous explosion shook the Wavewalker and the author was thrown overboard. The ship was about to capsize when another gigantic wave hit it tossing it upright once again. The author was thrown back onto the deck, his head and ribs smashing against the walls. Despite his injuries, the narrator took charge of the situation. Somehow he found the wheel, lined up the stem for the next wave, and hung on till Mary appeared and took charge of the wheel. Larry and Herb started pumping out water like madmen. The whole starboard side bulged inwards. The narrator managed to cover the canvas across the gaps to prevent water from entering the ship. Then came more problems. Their hand pumps stopped working and electric pumps were short-circuited. Fortunately, the narrator found a spare electric pump under the chartroom that worked. The entire night was spent in pumping, steering, repairing, and sending radio signals. The narrator checked charts and calculated that He Amsterdam, a French scientific base was their only hope. Sue and Jon were injured but they said that they were not afraid to die if they could all be together. Sue’s head was swollen and she had a deep injury. The narrator became more determined to see his children’s courage. Finally, they reached lie Amsterdam, a volcanic island where they were welcomed by 28 inhabitants. Thus, the collective strength and never-failing optimism of the sailors made it possible for them to come out of the jaws of death. Though Jonathan and Suzanne did not do anything to save Wavewalker their courage, forbearance, faith, and optimism gave extra strength and persistence to the narrator and his team. The bravery of the strong-willed children is noteworthy in the story.

Mothers are like angels or the human form of God on this very Earth for us. A mother’s love is beyond comparison. Mothers have a sense beyond the other five normal senses that makes can understand her child’s need. A mother’s instinct to guard and protect her child starts the moment she learns about the pregnancy. As children, we should honor the love and sacrifices of our parents. A perfect mother is one who strives to provide healthy food and ethical values to her children. A bond between child and mother is from even before the child’s first sees the light, in comparison to that of the father’s love. Children should work and pray for our mother’s good health and well-being and try to keep her happy for all that she has ever done for us. A woman shouldn’t bring a child to life unless she is happy and contented herself. A mother’s emotional and physical presence during the growing years of a child is vital for its growth (especially regarding the growth of some psychological aspects)

Character of Franz

Franz was a very young boy living in Alsace district of France. He had a layman's attitude to studies. At the beginning we find him feeling tempted to skive his school. However, we also come to know his inner strength of character when he overcomes that temptation.

We come to know his patriotism and love for his teacher after he comes to know about the sad news of the new order according to which teaching of French had to be replaced with German. He is shocked to know that that was M. Hamel's last lesson.

We see him getting remorseful for having ignored learning French. He wants to learn all the French in just one period. He is very sad at the departure of his teacher.

character sketch of franz of the last -lesson. The story portrays a lively depiction of Franz. He loved to spend his day out of doors rather in the classroom because the brightness of the sunshine, the chirping of the birds and the liveliness of the nature fascinated him. He was not much in interested in studies.

R = ρ* L/A

R ∝ L And R ∝ 1/A

here, length is reduced to 1/5 times so resistance also reduced to 1/5 times

so, resistance is 20/5 Ω = 4 Ω

Again, Area is doubled so resistance get half.

so, New resistance is 4/2Ω = 2Ω

Yes magnitude of a physical quantity change with change in system of units.

If Length = 14 km. here magnitude is 14 and unit is km

As we know 1 km = 1000 m.If we change kilo meter to meter. then 14 km = 14000 m.
So here magnitude is 14000 and unit is meter. So if we change unit then magnitude also changes.
