If several parties compete for power, and more than two parties have a reasonable chance of coming to power either on their own strength or in an alliance with others, it is known as a multi-party system.
In India, we have a multi-party system. In this system, the government is formed by various parties coming together in a coalition. When several parties in a multi-party system join hands for the purpose of contesting elections and winning power,it is called an alliance or a front. For example, in India there were three such major alliances in 2004 parliamentary elections—the National Democratic Alliance, the United Progressive Alliance and the Left Front.

Yes, Unity in Diversity is an appropriate term to describe India. Jawahar Lal Nehru, the former Prime Minister in his book "Discovery of India" wrote India was always united inspite of geographical, religious and cultural differences. Indian unity is not something imposed from outside but it is something deeper and within its fold, the widest tolerance of beliefs and customs was practised and variety acknowledged and even encouraged.

Yes, the term “unity in diversity” is definitely an appropriate term to describe India. India is a land where people from different religions, cultures, creed and castes live together in complete harmony. They celebrate different festivals together and the joys and sorrows of each other. This kind of diversity adds charm to our lives and helps us live together peacefully.
Jawaharlal Nehru in his book 'The Discovery of India' is trying to say that tolerance is very much ingrained in all citizens. India is not only united, but its people also know how to accept the customs and beliefs of others.

Production of goods in large quantities after processing from raw materials to more valuable products is called manufacturing. It is considered as backbone of development because:

(ii) Industrial development is a precondition for eradication of unemployment and poverty from our country.
(iii) Export of manufactured goods expands trade and commerce.

The ashvamedha ceremony or the horse sacrifice was one of the most important royal rituals of the Vedic period. It was often performed by powerful kings. The king wishing to perform this ceremony set a horse free to roam through the kingdoms of other rulers, guarded by his men. If a king allowed this sacred horse to pass through his territory, then it indicated that he had accepted the superiority of the first king. However if the king stopped the horse, then it meant that he was challenging the authority of the first king. A battle followed thereafter

Let a be any positive integer and b = 4. Then by Euclid’s algorithm,
a = 4q + r for some integer q ≥ 0, and r = 0, 1, 2, 3
So, a = 4q or 4q + 1 or 4q + 2 or 4q + 3 because 0 ≤ r < 4
Now, 4q i.e., 2(2q) is an even number
∴4q + 1 is an odd number.
4q + 2 i.e., 2(2q + 1) which is also an even number.
∴ (4q + 2) + 1 = 4q + 3 is an odd number.
Thus, we can say that any odd integer can be written in the form 4q + 1 or 4q + 3 where q is some integer.
