The Indian iron smelting industry had declined in the nineteenth century for the following reasons: (i) The new forest laws of the colonial government prevented people from entering the reserved forests. Now it became difficult for the iron smelters to find wood for charcoal. Getting iron ore was also a big problem. Hence, many gave up their craft and looked for other jobs. (ii) In some areas the government did grant access to the forest. But the iron smelters had to pay a very high tax to the forest department for every furnace they used. This reduced their income. (iii) By the late 19th century iron and steel was being imported from Britain. Ironsmiths in India began using the imported iron to manufacture utensils and implements. This inevitably lowered the demand for iron produced by local smelters.

general, meat-eating carnivores have teeth for tearing and skulls capable of biting with great force, while the plant-eating herbivores have teeth and skulls equipped to grind tough vegetation. Omnivores, which eat both plants and animals, have skulls and dentition suitable for a wide range of foods.

Sonakshi Joshi 5 years, 3 months ago (9874245)

Herbivores have only molars and premolars wich help them in chewing their food .

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 3 months ago (2898529)

All the teeth of a herbivore are molars and premolars. These teeth help the animal to chew and grind the food properly--- grass in this case---- therefore these teeth help herbivores to eat there food.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 3 months ago (2577571)

Herbivores typically have chisel-like incisors and large, flat premolars and molars for chewing plants, while their canines are small, if they have them at all.

Federalism in India is practised by the creation of linguistic states  ,language policy and centre state relations.

Linguistic states:- in 1947 ,the boundaries of several old states were changed in order to create new states . This was done to ensure that people who spoke the same language lived in the same state .Some of them were not only created on the basis of language but to recognise differences based on culture, ethnicity or geography. For example:- Nagaland,Uttrakhand and Jharkhand.

Language policy:- Our constitution did not give the status of national language to any one language. Hindi was identified as the official language. But it is the mother tongue of only about 40% of Indians  Therefore they were many  safeguards to protect other languages. Besides Hindi,there are 21other languages recognisddras scheduled languages by the Indian constitution.

Centre - State relations :-  Reconstructing the centre state relations in one more way in which federalism has been strengthened in practice. Since, 1990 coalition government were at the centre . No single party got a clear majority in the lok sabha, the major national parties had to enter into an alliance with many parties including several regional parties to form a government at the centre. This led to a new culture of power sharing at the centre. This led to a new culture of power sharing amd respect for the autonomy of  the State Governments.

An acid is defined as a substance whose water solution tastes sour, turns blue litmus red and neutralizes bases. A substance is called base if its aqueous solution tastes bitter, turns red litmus blue or neutralizes acids. Salt is a neutral substance whose aqueous solution does not affect litmus.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 3 months ago (2898529)

Acids

The term acid is derived from a Latin word ‘acidus’ or ‘acere’, which means sour. The most common characteristic is their sour taste. An acid is a substance that renders ionizable hydronium ion (H3O+) in its aqueous solution. It turns blue litmus paper red.

Bases

The most common characteristic of bases is their bitter taste and soapy feel. A base is a substance that renders hydroxyl ion(OH) in their aqueous solution. Bases turn the colour of red litmus paper to blue.

Salts

Salt is an ionic compound that results from the neutralization reaction of acids and bases. Salts are constituted of positively charged ions, known as cations and negatively charged ions, known as anions, which can either be organic or inorganic in nature. These ions are present in a relative amount, thus rendering the nature of the salt neutral.

(i) Liberals wanted a nation which tolerated all religions. In contrast, radicals wanted a nation in which government was based on the majority of a country's population.
(ii) Liberals did not believe in universal adult franchise. They felt men of property mainly should have the vote. But radicals opposed the privileges of great landowners and wealthy factory owners.
(iii) Liberals did not want the vote for women. On the other hand, many radicals supported women's suffragette movement.

2x-y=2 2x-2=y ....(1) x+3y=15 ....(2) By substituting the value from 1 and 2 eq. x+3(2x-2)=15 x+6x-6=15 7x-6=15 7x = 21 x= 21÷7 x=3 From 1 eq we can find out the value of y ..... 2x-2=y 2(3)-2=y 6-2 =y x=3 and y=4

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 3 months ago (2577571)

2x - y = 2

y = 2x - 2 ...(1)

x + 3y = 15 ...(2)

Substituting the value of y from (1) in (2), we get,

x + 6x - 6 = 15

7x = 21

x = 3

From (1),

y = 2  3 - 2 = 4

Given, the capacity of 1st tank =850 liters

And the capacity of 2nd tank= 680 liters

Now, the maximum capacity of a container which can measure the kerosene oil of both the

tankers when used an exact no.of times = HCF of 850 and 680

850 = 2 * 5 * 5  * 17

680 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 5 * 17

HCF(850, 680) = 2 * 5 * 17 = 170

Hence, the container which can measure petrol of either tank exactly must be of 170

liters.
