“The grandeur of the dooms” means the magnificence that we imagine for our mighty dead forefathers on the Doom’s Day.
The grandeur of doom refers to the monuments we erect to honour the 'mighty dead'. These monuments which honour men who are no more, are symbols of mighty sacrifice and greatness, and in such dedications mortal man passes into immortality--because their beauty captured in these monuments make them immortal and their deeds eternal.

This chapter throws light on the origin of Shehnai and the life of all-time great Shehnai Vadak —Bismillah Than. The winner of Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of India, his dedication to music and his love for India.
"Pungi” a musical instrument, was banned by Emperor Aurangzeb, because of its shrill and unpleasant sound. In fact, it was regarded more as a noise maker rather than a musical instrument. It was modified and perfected by a barber who belonged to a family of professional musicians. He played it in the chamber of the king. Its sound was so appreciated by the emperor that it was made a part of Naubat. Since it was played for the first time in Shah's chamber by a Nai, it came to be known as Shehnai.
Traditionally, it was played in the temples and on every auspicious domestic occasions also. Its sound was regarded as auspicious. But it was treated as an incomplete musical instrument, not capable of creating independent pages. But Bismillah broke this myth.
Bismillah belongs to the Benares Gharana. He was born in 1916 at Dumraon, in Bihar. As a 5 year old, he used to visit the Bihariji Temple and sing Bhojpuri "Chaitya" there. For his melodious singing he used to earn a big Laddu from the local Bhojpuri King. At the age of 6, he moved to Benares. There under the guidance and training of his maternal uncle, Ali Bux, he started picking up the finer nuances of shehnai. He used to spend most of his time practicing on the banks of the River Ganges. The themes of his music were deeply affected by the sounds of flowing water of the Ganga.

N-Type Semiconductor
- Mainly due to electrons
- Entirely neutral
- I = Ih and nh >> ne
- Majority – Electrons and Minority – Holes
When a pure semiconductor (Silicon or Germanium) is doped by pentavalent impurity (P, As, Sb, Bi) then, four electrons out of five valence electrons bonds with the four electrons of Ge or Si.
The fifth electron of the dopant is set free. Thus the impurity atom donates a free electron for conduction in the lattice and is called “Donar“.
Since the number of free electron increases by the addition of an impurity, the negative charge carriers increase. Hence it is called n-type semiconductor.
Crystal as a whole is neutral, but the donor atom becomes an immobile positive ion. As conduction is due to a large number of free electrons, the electrons in the n-type semiconductor are the MAJORITY CARRIERS and holes are the MINORITY CARRIERS.

The Bond of Love is a story written by Kenneth Anderson that revolves around the emotional bond of love shared between the author’s wife and her pet sloth bear. The author had rescued the baby sloth bear while he was passing through the sugarcane fields near Mysore. The little bear’s mother was shot dead by one of the author’s companions. So, the author rescued the baby bear and took him to Bangalore and gifted him to his wife. She was delighted seeing the little furry creature and tied a coloured ribbon around its neck right away and christened the little animal as ‘Bruno’.
Soon, the author and his family nourished the baby bear like their own child and helped him grow along with their pet Alsatian dogs. As Bruno was growing up, he started bonding with everyone, starting with the children and the pet dogs around. He had a bed of his own and he loved playing and running around the kitchen with other little ones all day long. However, one day, he ate some poison accidentally that was meant to kill rats. After consuming the poison, Bruno was suddenly paralysed and was rushed to the veterinary hospital for treatment. Later, he recovered back to normal. On another occasion, he drank almost a gallon of old engine oil that was meant to kill termites. However, consuming it had no ill effects on him whatsoever.
As days passed, Bruno started growing in size, but he had a playful nature. Later, the author’s wife changed his name to ‘Baba’ which meant a small boy in Hindi. Gradually, he learnt some tricks and began entertaining everyone around him. Nonetheless, he was kept chained most of the time as the tenants’ children were afraid to come closer to him due to his growing size. Thus, everyone except the author’s wife decided to take him to the zoo as he had become enormous and was not fit to be kept as a pet in the house. Although initially, the author’s wife was reluctant but she finally gave in considering everyone’s safety. Soon, the formalities of the Mysore zoo were completed and he was moved there in a cage.
In due course of time, the author’s wife started missing her pet terribly. Even Bruno used to fret often and skipped his meals in sadness. The author’s wife was upset when she learnt that Baba wasn’t having food properly and remained sad all day. So, after three months, she decided to pay a visit to the zoo to check on Baba. Although everyone said that Bruno would not be able to recognize her, when he saw her, he howled with happiness and she petted him through the bars of the cage.
The author’s wife was so touched meeting Bruno that she decided to take him back home. Soon, they obtained the permission of the zoo superintendent and finally brought him back. They made a special island for Baba with all his belongings in a six-foot deep dry pit. Finally, Baba was reunited with the author’s wife and she would spend long hours pampering him by petting his back and lulling him to sleep on her lap. They indeed shared a true and emotional bond of love between them.
Conclusion of The Bond of Love
The chapter – The Bond of Love teaches students that a true bond of love is not restricted to humans only, even pet animals understand the care and love that we share with them. Being loved is one of the most prized gifts that can be felt by anyone. Here, we brought you the CBSE Class 9 English Beehive Prose Summary of The Bond of Love. We hope this has guided students to get a complete insight of the chapter.

Fertilization
Fertilization is the process of fusion of a sperm with an ovum. The union of sperm and egg results in the formation of zygote or fertilized egg. In humans, it usually occurs in the fallopian tube. Usually, one sperm fertilizes the ovum. However, there are chances of more than one sperm fertilizing with an ovum. The phenomenon is called as polyspermy.

Find the sum of the roots:
Sum of the roots = α + β
α + β = - b/a
α + β = - (-12 ) / 7 = 12/7
Find the product of the roots:
Product of the roots = αβ
αβ = c/a
αβ = 18/7
Find the ratio:
α + β : αβ = 12/7 : 18/7
Multiply by 7:
α + β : αβ = 12 : 18
Divide by 6:
α + β : αβ = 2 : 3
