The name of the enzyme which is present in our mouth cavity is Salivary amylase. The name of gland is salivary gland. If the gland stop secreting this enzyme then the starch does not convert into Maltose and it can affect taste, make chewing and swallowing more difficult.

Jiya Bhatia 2 years, 2 months ago (14114205)

The enzyme secreted is salivary amylase which converts starch into simple sugar thus if it is not secreted then starch is not converted into simple sugar

Harsh Verma 2 years, 2 months ago (15093648)

Enzyme present in our mouth is Salivary Amylase which is secreted by salivary gland. If this gland stop secreting, then starch cannot convert it into maltose and thus digestion does not occur properly.
