तुलसीदास जी का जन्म 1554 ईश्वी में श्रावण मास की शुक्ल पक्ष की सप्तमी तिथि को हुआ था। इस वर्ष यह तिथि रविवार 3 अगस्त को है। इनके विषय में कहा जाता है कि कलियुग में इन्हें भगवान श्री राम और लक्ष्मण जी के दर्शन प्राप्त हुए थे। तुलसीदास जी के विषय में यह भी मान्यता है कि यह पूर्वजन्म में रामायण के लेखक महाकवि बाल्मिकी थे।
