There are seven periods in modern periodic table. As we move from left to right in a period valecy increases from 1 to 4 and then decreases to 0. When we move from left to right in a period metallic character of elements decreases and non- metallic character started to increase. As we go down in a group valecy of element remain same and atomic size start increase

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 3 months ago

<hr />

The modern periodic table has seven periods.

On moving from left to right in the periodic table, the metallic character of elements decreases, while the valency first increases from 1 to 4 and then decreases to 0 (zero). On moving down the group, the atomic size of the elements increases, but the valency remains the same.

  • The Balkan region comprised modern-day Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Greece,Macedonia,Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia, Serbia and Montenegro, and its inhabitants were broadly called Slavs.
  • With a large area of Balkan region under the Ottoman Empire, the spread of the ideas of romantic nationalism in the Balkans together with the breaking up of the Ottoman Empire made the situation even more serious.
  •  The Ottoman Empire had not been able to become strong even after reforms and modern methods after an effort of nearly 91.00 years. Gradually, most of the European subject nationalities broke away from the Ottoman Empire’s control to declare themselves independent.
  •  The claim for independence and political rights by the Balkan people was based on nationality. They gave examples of history to prove that they had once been independent but had subsequently been subjugated by foreign powers.
  •  Thus the rebellious nationalities in the Balkans thought of their struggles as attempts to win back their long lost independence.
  •  Soon various Slavic nationalities were struggling to define their identity and independence making Balkans region one having intense conflict.
  • The internal rivalries and jealousies made the Balkan states distrust and fear each other.
  • As the Balkans had become site for big power fights, the situation became even more serious. The fights were among the European powers who fought for trade and colonies and for naval and military powers.
  • Russia, Germany, England and Austria-Hungary wanted to gain control of the Balkan region causing many wars which culminated in the First World War.

Lakshay Chhillar 5 years, 3 months ago

Balkan region was a source of tension because of the following reasons: (1) It was a region of geographical, ethnic variation comprising Romania, Bulgaria, etc:and its inhabitants were broadly known as Slavs. (2) Large part of Balkans was under the Ottoman Empire and the disintegration of which created an explosive situation. One by one its European subject nationalities broke away from its control and declared independence. (3) Balkan peoples based their claims for independence or political rights on nationality and used history to prove that they were independent but subsequently subjugated. (4) The Balkan states were fiercely jealous of each other & hoped to gain territory. (5) Matters complicated because of intense rivalry among European powers over Trade & colonies as well as naval and military might. This led to a series of wars in the region and finally the first world war. (6) Spread of the ideas of romantic nationalism.

When we are asked to calculate the distance between a point and any of the axes, we calculate the perpendicular distance between them.

Therefore, the point (-3,-4) is 3 units away from the y-axis and 4 units from the x-axis. This is because in case of either axes the co-ordinate of the other axis is zero.

Therefore the distance between the point P(-3,-4) and x-axis is 4 units.

Divanshu Rawat 5 years, 3 months ago

For x axis our point x2=-3 & y2=0 D=√[-3-(-3)]^2. + [0-(-4)]^2 =√(0)^2. + (4)^2 =√16 D=4 unit

Given equations are

2x+3y=11−−−−(1)

2x−4y=−24−−−−(2)

Form (1)

2x+3y=11

⇒2x=11−3y

⇒x=211−3y−−−(3)

substituting  x in(2)

2x−4y=−24

⇒2(211−3y)−4y=−24

⇒11−3y−4y=−24

⇒11−7y=−24

⇒7y=35

⇒y=35/7

⇒y=5.

putting  y = 5 in (3)

x=[11−3(5)]/2

⇒x=[11−15]/2

⇒x=−4/2

∴x=−2.

Hence x = -2 and y = 5 is the solution of the

equation.

Now, we have to find m

y=mx+3                                  ∴m=−1

5=3(−2)+3

5−3=−2m⇒−2m=2

⇒m=−2/x=−1

Sl. No. Differentiating Property Resistance Resistivity
1 Definition Resistance is the physical property of a substance because of which it opposes the flow of current i.e. electrons. Resistivity is the physical property of a particular substance which is having particular dimensions.
2 Proportionality Resistance is directly proportional to the length and temperature while it is inversely proportional to the cross-sectional area of the material. Resistivity is only proportional to the nature and temperature of the particular material.
3 Symbol R ρ
4 Formula R = V/I or,
R = ρ(L/A)V = Voltage, I = Current, ρ = Resistivity
ρ = (R×A)/L

R = Resistance, L= Length, A = Cross-sectional area

5 SI Units The SI unit of resistance is Ohms The SI unit of resistivity is Ohms-meter.
6 Applications The property of resistance is used in several places like heaters, fuses, sensors, etc. Electrical resistivity measurement is used as a quality control test for calcareous soil.

One of the most common forms of nonverbal communication is facial expressions. Using the eyebrows, mouth, eyes and facial muscles to convey can be very effective when communicating both emotion and information. Example: Someone might raise their eyebrows and open their eyes widely if they feel surprised.

Let x be the number of correct answers and y be the number of wrong answers.

Since Jayanti answered 120 questions therefore, x+y=120 that is x=120−y..........(1)

Also, it is given that one mark is awarded for each correct answer while  1/2 mark is deducted for every wrong answer and Jayanti got 90 marks, therefore,

x−0.5y=90..........(2)

Substituting the value of equation 1 in equation 2:

120−y−0.5y=90

−1.5y=−30

y=20

Therefore,

x=120−20=100

Hence, she answered 100 questions correctly.
